Adam Copeland Saved By WWE Attitude Era Star At Double Or Nothing

Adam Copeland AEW

Adam Copeland has not had his troubles to seek in AEW recently but he managed to escape from a bloody TNT Title match thanks to an old friend from WWE.

When Adam Copeland joined AEW, he spoke openly about his desire to enjoy the twilight of his career by the side of his long-time best friend and tag team partner Christian Cage. However, Cage was not interested and told Copeland bluntly “Go f*ck yourself” before the two men engaged in a few wars over the TNT Title.

Copeland finally dethroned Cage for good on Dynamite in March 2024 and his quest to hold ‘Cope Opens’ where he put the TNT Title on the line against all comers was sidelined when The House of Black took interest in him.

Malakai Black vowed to bring back the old Adam Copeland and would go to any lengths to prove the WWE Hall of Famer still had a dark side to him. Copeland defeated Black’s partners Buddy Matthews and Brody King in matches for the TNT Title and that led to a showdown between the champion and Malakai Black at Double Or Nothing in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match.

Adam Copeland Saved By Gangrel In Bloody AEW Match

The blood soon flowed in the brutal match and Copeland looked to have his time as a champion coming to an end when Matthews and King both got inside the cage. With a three-on-one assault taking place, The House of Black had Copeland primed for his end as they wrapped him in barbed wire. However, the lights turned red and emerging through the ring was ex-WWE star Gangrel.

Gangrel and Adam Copeland were partners in The Brood once upon a time in WWE and the vampiric star did not miss a beat as he spit blood in the face of The House of Black before dropping Matthews and King with his Impaler DDT. Malakai Black dropped him with Black Mass but that allowed Copeland to hit a spear and wrap Black in barbed wire before he made his challenger pass out in the crossface as he retained his title.

Many fans believed this brutal title match could be the last in Malakai Black’s AEW career but with no confirmation about his contract status or a return to WWE, that remains to be seen.
