Adam Copeland Open To Match With NJPW Legend
Adam Copeland wants to kick down the Forbidden Door.
Now a part of the AEW roster, The Rated R Superstar has a longer list of dream opponents and first-time-ever matches than ever before. With All Elite Wrestling also being very open to working with other promotions, Copeland has his choice of the best wrestlers in the world to compete against.
While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Copeland listed multiple dream matches that he wants to have at this stage of his career. Although most of the names are fellow members of the AEW roster, the Hall of Famer would also list one of the best wrestlers in the world, New Japan’s Kazuchika Okada:
“I’ve never wrestled at Wrestle Kingdom,” said Copeland. “I’ve never wrestled at Tokyo Dome. How about a match against Kazuchika Okada? That would be pretty cool. I’m pretty excited by that. How about Jon Moxley? Hell yeah. A singles match in AEW against Bryan Danielson? Miro? Claudio Castagnoli? Kenny Omega? Will Ospreay? Adam Page? Chris Jericho? Malakai Black? FTR in a tag? Teaming with Darby against the Young Bucks? Facing Darby? Facing Sting? A promo battle with Eddie Kingston? The possibilities, they’re keeping me awake at night. These new matchups are all super exciting. It all starts next week against Luchasaurus.”
Okada last appeared on AEW TV at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, losing to Bryan Danielson in the main event of the crossover show.
When Is Adam Copeland’s First AEW Match?
Fans will get to see the former World Champion compete outside of a WWE ring for the first time in over 25 years on Tuesday, October 10 against Luchasaurus. With Dynamite being moved to Tuesday as a result of the MLB playoffs, it will compete directly against NXT. In what many fans are citing as more than coincidental booking, the upcoming NXT has been loaded with talent including John Cena and Paul Heyman.
