Adam Copeland and Christian Cage kicked off AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door with nostalgia.

The lifelong friends partnered for the first time in 14 years and for the first time in AEW to face Killswitch and Kip Sabian.

Bryan Danielson, who was one of the commentators, claimed that Christian was untrustworthy, and it would be a challenge for him and Copeland to band together.

They sure proved the former AEW World Champion wrong at the pay-per-view.

While they did not seem like their old selves from WWE, it was progress nonetheless.

On the contrary, Killswitch and Sabian struggled to coalesce, as the latter constantly inserted himself into the match with cheeky tags, leaving Killswitch frustrated.

O2 Arena Rises For Adam Copeland

The audience at the O2 Arena in London got their money’s worth, as they not only witnessed Adam Copeland and Christian Cage team up for the first time, but also pick up a win.

During Copeland’s entry, the fans sang his theme song, by Metalingus, even after the music had stopped. Christian, on the other hand, was cheered, which has been a rare reception for him.

While Adam Copeland and Christian Cage did not hug it out after their victory, they did shake hands.

It will be interesting to see where their relationship goes from here.
