Adam Copeland Makes Surprise Appearance At San Diego Comic Con

Adam Copeland AEW Collision entrance

Adam Copeland made a shocking appearance at the San Diego Comic Con while getting an assist for his leg.

At the AEW Double Or Nothing PPV in May, Adam Copeland retained the TNT Title in a gruesome Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black. Unfortunately for Copeland, he broke his leg while jumping off the steel cage to deliver an elbow drop to Black, who was on a table.

The broken leg injury required major surgery and it will keep Copeland out of the ring for most of the rest of the year although there has been no timeline for how long he is going to be out.

While there were AEW wrestlers at the San Diego Comic Con, Copeland made his presence felt during a panel for Percy Jacksonand the Olympians on Thursday. Copeland appeared on the stage while using a scooter to help his injured left leg.

In a clip posted by Deadline Hollywood on Twitter, Copeland berated Walker Scobell for not mentioning one of their fight scenes. Copeland plays Ares on the Percy Jackson show.

“So, you didn’t say that our battle scene was your favorite part of the season. The fact that I’m here on a knee scooter, instead of a giant hog (a motorbike, not something else) between my legs, is because of you. Because you couldn’t control rip tide. So now, I’m here with a broken leg. You didn’t mention me as your favorite part. Hades, how dare you play that!”

After that comment in jest, Copeland spoke to the audience.

“Seriously folks, I’m Adam Copeland and I play Ares. They legitimately had no idea that I was going to be here. I’m here, we did it!”

Tony Khan Praises Adam Copeland’s AEW Run

Adam Copeland has been in AEW for less than a year, yet AEW Owner Tony Khan believes that what Copeland has done in less than one year in AEW is better than the previous 25 years that Copeland spent in WWE as the Hall of Famer known as Edge.

“[Copeland] was the TNT Champion, the face of our other network. He arguably has been on the greatest run of his entire legendary career, which is really saying something because he’s had so many great matches, so many great runs.”

“What he’s been doing in AEW is some of the best stuff. I’m really proud of that. He was on this amazing run. Unfortunately, he got injured, and he had to vacate the TNT title, but we’ve had so many great free agents come in just in the past year.”

During his AEW career so far, Copeland is a two-time TNT Champion and had a lengthy feud with real-life best friend Christian Cage.
