Adam Cole Wins KultureCity’s 2023 Human Highlight Award
Adam Cole was honored to receive KultureCity’s Human Highlight Award.
KultureCity and All Elite Wrestling have shared a partnership since the wrestling company made its start in 2019, and now one of AEW’s top stars is being honored by the organization. Last week, Adam Cole (real name Austin Jenkins) was the recipient of the Human Highlight Award for his perseverance through health issues and his eventual return the the ring.
At Double or Nothing in 2022, Cole was severely concussed in his match against Samoa Joe in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. After his return to the ring, he was once again concussed during his fatal four way match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door. The star would be out of the ring for nine months, finally returning in May of 2023 after fearing he would never be able to wrestle again.
Adam Cole Thanked Britt Baker For Her Support During His Injury
Cole’s partner Britt Baker shared images and a video of his speech on social media, and Cole commented the following:
“So honored & humbled I am so thankful to have a bunch of amazing and wonderful people around me. The world is a better place when we are there for each other. @kulturec #KultureCity”

In his speech, Adam Cole opened up about being relatively healthy for most of his career until his recent concussion scare. He expressed gratitude that he’s not only been able to regain his quality of life, but that he’ll soon be performing in the main event of AEW All In inside Wembley Stadium. He also thanked Britt Baker for her constant support, saying that she was always with him every step of the way.
The couple’s big night at the Kulture Ball in Birmingham, AL meant that Baker nearly missed her match in the main event of Rampage that was being taped the same night. Cole and Baker took a private jet from Birmingham to Lexington, KY, and Baker arrived just before her match took place. Cole also appeared in front of the Lexington crowd to send the fans home happy.
Adam Cole is set for double duty at All In on August 27th. Not only will he and MJF challenge Aussie Open for the ROH Tag Team Championship on the pre-show, he and MJF will also face off against one another for the AEW World Championship.
