Adam Cole Finally Competes In AEW For First Time In Over A Year

Adam Cole AEW

Adam Cole was back in action for the first time in 13 months as he took one small step to gaining revenge against MJF in AEW.

Adam Cole hadn’t wrestled since teaming with MJF at All Out in early September 2023. Just a few short weeks later, Cole suffered a broken ankle at Grand Slam as he tried to help MJF retain the AEW World Championship.

During a recent interview, Adam Cole revealed he had to have a cadaver bone inserted into his ankle because his bone had “disintegrated.”

Following a year over out of the ring due to his gruesome injury, Cole was back in action on Fright Night Dynamite as he looked to earn his way to a match with his former tag team partner and best friend MJF.

MJF wants nothing to do with Cole after Cole betrayed him at Worlds End in late 2023 costing him the AEW World Title in the process. However, Adam Cole wants MJF in the ring but the former AEW World Champion loves a way out of trouble and he’s told Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom whoever can win three matches in a row first can meet him at Full Gear.

Adam Cole Faces Another House Of Black Challenge

That journey for Cole began on Dynamite in Cleveland, Ohio as he faced The House of Black’s Buddy Matthews in his first match in 13 months. Cole’s injury came into play as at one point the AEW doctor wanted to call the match off but Adam Cole persevered and eventually picked up the win.

After the bout, Cole and Matthews shook hands in a show of respect before the lights went out. When they came back on Cole found himself shaking hands with Malakai Black. Cole will now face Black on the 6th of November edition of Dynamite.
