Absent WWE Star Possibly Appearing At Payback PLE

A big-name WWE superstar could be making a surprise return during the Payback Premium Live Event.

The last time WWE fans saw Jey Uso on television was the August 11th edition of Smackdown. After Jey’s twin brother Jimmy Uso cost Jey the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam against Roman Reigns, Jey took out his frustrations on his family.

On that episode of Smackdown, Jey beat up Reigns, his brother Solo Sikoa and also dropped twin brother Jimmy with a superkick as well.

After getting his payback against his family, Jey looked into the camera (without a microphone) saying “I’m out The Bloodline. I’m out of SmackDown. I’m out of WWE!” That was followed up by WWE putting Jey on the Alumni Page on their website even though Jey is really under contract.

It is now being reported by PWInsider Elite’s Mike Johnson that Jey Uso is in Pittsburgh for tonight’s WWE Payback Premium Live Event.

John Cena Adjusted Jimmy Uso’s Attitude On WWE Smackdown Before Payback

Last night’s WWE Smackdown episode from Hershey did reference the absent Jey Uso. John Cena did a promo announcing he was the special guest host of Payback tonight while Jimmy Uso interrupted the festivities. While Jimmy was out there, the fans chanted “We Want Jey” because “Main Event” Jey Uso has become a very popular WWE superstar.

During the Smackdown segment, Jimmy told Cena that Cena was selfish just like Roman Reigns is. Cena didn’t like that so he told Jimmy that the wrong Uso brother quit. Jimmy tried to superkick Cena, but Cena caught the foot and hit Jimmy with an Attitude Adjustment to end the segment.

Since Cena is guest hosting Payback, perhaps he will be doing another promo except this time it might be a returning Jey Uso who does the interruption. Check out WWE Payback tonight to see what happens.

You can watch WWE Payback on Saturday, September 2, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, streaming LIVE on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
