40 Year Old Bret Hart Match Unearthed Online
A Bret Hart match unseen by most of the wrestling world has been unearthed online 40 years after it took place.
Bret Hart is best known for his iconic wrestling career in WWE which saw him become only the second man to win the company’s triple crown of tag team, Intercontinental, and WWE Championships.
Hart is regarded by many as the greatest pro wrestler of all time as he constantly lived up to his nickname of The Excellence of Execution as he shared the ring with the likes of Ric Flair, Mr Perfect, Roddy Piper, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Sting.
Now Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling has unearthed an early outing of Bret Hart from their archives. The match features Hart – then called Buddy Hart – in the ring with Leo Burke.

It was recently announced that former TNA boss Scott D’Amore will relaunch Maple Leaf Wrestling with two events on October 19th and October 20th.
The grand old promotion can trace its roots back to the 1930s, before rising to prominence under the guidance of Frank Tunney. When Frank died in 1983, his nephew Jack took control of the promotion before it was absorbed by WWE in 1984.
Jack Tunney will be a name familiar to many long-time wrestling fans as he appeared on-screen as “WWE President” from 1984 until 1995.
