A former 14-time champion in WWE has revealed that they are battling two stress fractures.

Having entered the WWE Hall of Fame as part of DX, Billy Gunn thought he’d probably picked the quiet life when he signed up to AEW as a coach in the upstart company.

Little did he know, just a few short years later, he’d be one of the most popular parts of that company, along with The Acclaimed. “Oh scissor me, Daddy” was the chant that echoed throughout arenas around the world as fans got behind the man dubbed Daddy Ass.

Billy Gunn has not been seen in AEW for quite some time; however, despite Max Caster and Anthony Bowens grudgingly teaming up again as they look to recover some of their lost magic since The Acclaimed split up.

Stress Fractures Won’t Stop WWE Hall Of Famer

Speaking on Fuel & Flex, Billy Gunn revealed that he’s currently battling stress fractures in his back, but that won’t stop him from clangin’ and bangin’ in the gym to keep him in tiptop condition:

I love to squat. I don’t know what it is. I am not a huge squatter, but I love it. I don’t know what it is. I love the feeling, I love the movement. But I have two stress fractures in my back that absolutely smoke me when I do it. I refuse not to do it. I am not gonna not do it. I’ve found ways to make myself feel safer doing it, just in case my back…

Everytime I squat, I box squat. I just touch and go, only because if something goes I know that I have something that I can go to instead of going whooo [makes gesture of throwing the barbell], trying to wipe out half the gym. Right? It’s putting yourself in uncomfortable positions to make yourself comfortable.
