10-Time WWE Champion May Return To Challenge Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes dethroned John Cena at SummerSlam 2025 for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Since then, he has defended the championship only once against Drew McIntyre on the October 17th, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown. The match ended in disqualification, granting the victory to The Scottish Warrior.
As WWE’s top champion, Cody Rhodes will need to put the championship on the line against more superstars.
Brock Lesnar can challenge Cody Rhodes
The Stamford-based promotion will need to alter several plans if Seth Rollins is completely out of the picture owing to his injury. The upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW will provide more clarity about The Visionary’s condition.
One of the names that has been floated into the mix if Seth Rollins vacates the World Heavyweight Championship.
Dave Meltzer addressed the situation and claimed that someone like Brock Lesnar can be used to put over Bron Breakker. Before setting that up, The Beast can go through a few other superstars such as Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes.
But, you know, I mean, that’s just kind of how I would look at it is like, yeah, he’s going to run through some people and, you know, maybe get into a feud here and there. He should wrestle Cody. I mean, if you beat John Cena the way you beat John Cena, you obviously should have a match with Cody. And, you know, maybe they don’t—I don’t know if they know how to get out of that one. You know, obviously that wasn’t the original plan for Survivor Series.
You know, everything’s up in the air now, but I would think that—and Cody even mentioned him in a promo—which made me think that that’s a direction they’re going in. [h/t: Ringside News]
WWE’s pivoting from the original plans will require them to call in the big guns to save the creative angles.
