AJ Lee has finally returned to WWE after a decade of absence. During her first run in the Stamford-based company, she was part of some shocking backstage stories.

The 38-year-old initially joined the global juggernaut in 2009. Two years later, Lee debuted on the main roster, becoming one of the top and most popular female superstars and winning the Divas Championship three times.

Although Lee left the company and retired from professional wrestling in 2015, she finally made her comeback last night on SmackDown to help her husband against Becky Lynch.

The Man was involved in a shocking backstage story with Lee during the latter’s first WWE stint. The three-time Divas Champion was also part of a few other backstage tales that would leave you stunned.

A Local Crew Guy Paid For Ogling AJ Lee Backstage

One of the wild stories AJ Lee told in her book, “Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules,” involved WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.

The former Divas Champion recalled one time she was stretching backstage when The World Strongest Man walked by and caught a local crew guy ogling her.

The Hall of Famer did not let that slip. Instead, he went straight to the local crew guy, lifted him off his feet and pinned him against the wall to teach him a lesson. Henry’s reaction left a significant impression on Lee.

WWE Told AJ Lee Nobody Wanted To Have S*x With Her

During her participation in the third season of NXT, AJ Lee prided herself on presenting herself differently from other female WWE Superstars. She explained in her book that she was “training the audience, and myself, to be comfortable not measuring up physically with everyone else.”

The former Divas Champion explained that instead of presenting herself as a s*xy woman, she spoke about gaming, robot handshakes, and pizza eating. She also displayed her deep knowledge of wrestling history and acted like her “true dorky self.” That, however, did not sit well with the company’s higher-ups.

The 38-year-old revealed in her book that talent relations told her that although she was the best wrestler in the competition, no fans wanted to sleep with her, which they considered a problem.

Back in Talent Relations: ‘Look, we know you can wrestle, and not many women can. We appreciate that, we just want you to understand that it’s important to be the full package. Right now, you’re the best wrestler in the competition. Our female fans want to dress like you. Our male fans want to hang out and play video games with you. But no one wants to have s*x with you. Do you see how that’s a problem for us? I don’t know how they do things in FCW, but here we have a standard our women are proud to stand up to.

WWE Star Courted AJ Lee While Secretly In A Relationship With Another Female Talent

Another wild story AJ Lee revealed in her book involved an unnamed WWE Superstar courting her before her relationship with CM Punk. The Black Widow disclosed that she enjoyed the attention he was giving her, unaware that he was secretly dating another woman in the company.

When the former Divas Champion became aware of the situation and told him to back off, she feared he would get her fired since he had “more stroke than her.” However, Lee admitted that he took it like a champ.

I almost got wrapped up with another wrestler. While he aggressively courted me, I ignorantly giggled, enjoying the affirming attention. What I didn’t realize was that he was secretly dating another woman in the company, and she would understandably hate me forever. Since he had way more stroke than I did, I worried that he would try to have me fired after I told him to back off. But he ended up taking it like a champ.

AJ Lee Was Dumbed By WWE Star Because She Was A “Sh*tty Partner”

The former Divas Champion had a few romantic relationships with WWE co-workers during her first run. Her first in the Stamford-based company was with a wrestler she named “Greg” in her book. AJ Lee described Greg as her first real adult relationship and her first love. She revealed that he was kind to her and showered her with attention and gifts. He was also close to her family, making her feel safe and loved.

However, Greg dumbed Lee when her career became her main focus. The 38-year-old confessed that she made the mistake of losing focus on her relationship as she was finally succeeding in her dream job. She admitted that although she knew she was not a good partner, she was shocked when she got dumped.

My career became my main focus, and being young and incapable of focusing on two things at once, I started to let my relationship fall to the wayside. I was finally succeeding in the job of my dreams, and to get where I wanted to go, I had to give it my undivided attention. Even though I was being a sh*tty partner, it still knocked me on my a** when I got dumped.

Becky Lynch Had An Unpleasant First Encounter With AJ Lee

AJ Lee retired from WWE in April 2015, three months before Becky Lynch made her main roster debut. However, Lynch had a brief encounter with The Black Widow backstage before the latter left the company.

In her book, “The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl,” Lynch recalled seeing Lee backstage texting on her phone. She approached the former Divas Champion and introduced herself, hoping that the then top WWE star would like her.

When I opened my eyes, I noticed that the Women’s Champion, or as they so awfully named it, the Divas Champion, AJ Lee, was standing to the left of me, typing furiously into her phone. Without picking up on social cues, I enthusiastically greeted her, ‘Hello,’ four octaves higher than normal, with the underlying desperation of, ‘Please like me. I’m Rebecca!’

Lee’s reaction, however, was nothing like Lynch expected. The current Women’s Intercontinental Champion claimed that the 38-year-old ignored her handshake attempt and only responded with a grunt.

She looked up as I stretched out my hand to shake hers [and] grunted what may have been a ‘Hi’ before going back to finger-punching her phone, leaving me with my arm outstretched, fondling the air. ‘This is going horribly,’ I thought, as I sat on the bathroom stall.
