5 WWE Stars Who Recently Suffered Legit Injuries In The Ring

WWE is an entertainment sport, however, the impact which the superstars take upon their bodies is extremely real. While the pro-wrestlers thrive to provide top-notch entertainment to the fans, the process takes a toll on their physical health, sometimes resulting in serious injuries.

Recently, quite a few WWE Superstars have been sidelined for weeks or months owing to injuries. Here are x stars who have suffered that fate and a potential timeline for their return to the WWE ring.

#5. Bronson Reed

The 330 lbs superstar was last seen on WWE TV at Survivor Series WarGames on November 30, 2024. He was the fifth member for Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline alongside Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.

During the match against The OG Bloodline, he attempted a a high-risk maneuver, which also happens to be his signature move, the ‘Tsunami’ splash. The execution was supposed to be on Roman Reigns who was pulled out of the way by CM Punk, sending Reed through the table. This resulted in his left ankle to be severely impacted upon landing.

He was diagnosed with a talus bone fracture which required surgical intervention. The recovery of such an injury is extensive and can require up to a year to heal.

#4. Tonga Loa

Another WWE Superstar who sustained an injury during the men’s WarGames at Survivor Series in Tonga Loa. He tore his biceps during the physically demanding match, and has undergone successful surgery.

Currently, he is indefinitely sidelined owing to his injury but he is supposedly on track for returning to SmackDown in June 2025.

#3. Kevin Owens

The Prizefighter was in the middle of a feud with Randy Orton, due for a singles match at WrestleMania 41 when he had to back out of it owing to a neck injury. He announced the same on an early April 2025 edition of SmackDown that he had been dealing with neck issues for months which required neck fusion surgery.

As of May 2025, there is no fixed timeline for Kevin Owens’ return to WWE TV, and might be out for the rest of 2025.

#2. Nia Jax

On the May 16, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown, Nia Jax suffered a significant facial injury during the WWE Women’s Championship match against Tiffany Stratton. The Irresistible One attempted to use a steel chair to gain an advantage when The Buff Barbie dropkicked the chair into her challenger’s face.

Jax’s face was visibly bloodied. She shared images of the same on her Instagram after the show, gaining quite a bit of traction. Stratton even commented on the photograph claiming that she made her bleed even when others couldn’t.

#1. Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow suffered a knee injury on the March 15, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown. During that time, she was in a segment with Damage CTRL, and was witnessed limping during the closing moments of the show.

However, she battled through the injury and participated in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match at Backlash France in May 2024. After the event, Asuka underwent a knee surgery and has been sidelined since.

Ideally, she should be returning to WWE TV sometime in 2025.
