Charlotte Flair Comments on Current WWE Absence, Having Cosmetic Surgery to Fix Issue from Prior Surgery, More
Charlotte Flair is a 12-time champion in her WWE career. That’s 10 championships on Raw and Smackdown along with two NXT Women’s Title runs. Tomorrow, July 13, is five years since she made her Raw debut and since then, she has been arguably the best women’s wrestler in WWE. She has been out of action since Nia Jax attacked her on the June 22 edition of Raw and Flair was selling an arm injury.
At the time of the angle on Raw, it was believed that Flair would be out until around SummerSlam on August 23 although it could be longer. We don’t know for sure because there have been mixed reports about it, but on June 25 she said “a few weeks” away from WWE TV.
In a series of tweets posted by Charlotte on Sunday, she talked about having a cosmetic issue from a prior surgery. She also felt like she wanted to address the “history of my boobs” as she put it.
Rather than post all of the tweets, I’ll just put it in quotes to let you know that they came from her.
“My air conditioning is broken, and we have a little free time. These tweets may be spaced out a bit, but we’re going to talk time off, plastic surgery and boobs. The entire world having an opinion on the topic bothers me more than I care to let on, so we are going to discuss it.”
“I’m going to save the history of my boobs for a different bedtime story, so: Picture it. Charlotte, North Carolina, 2018. A young queen, shortly after a career defining Wrestlemania victory, finds herself sicker than sick at her brother’s house. A trip to the doctor tells us the likely culprit is silicone poisoning, and that my implant had been leaking for quite some time. It was one of the worse cases the doctor had seen.”
“At that time, I had a few options to fix the issue. Each option had a specific recovery time. I love this job more than anything, so I picked the option that allowed me to return the soonest. That was the choice I made. Fast forward to a few months ago. Something felt off, so I went back to the doctor. Same issue again.”
“This time, I’m going with an option that I believe will solve the issue long time, even though the recovery period is a little longer than I would like.”
“To clarify: I do not have silicone poisoning this time. The surgery is cosmetic to fix an issue from a prior surgery.”
“I’ll be back when I’m ready. The body will be rested, and the mind still focused on legacy. Focused on this job. Focused on being better. Always being better.”
You can see the end of it here.

Charlotte also responded to a fan saying that she didn’t have to say anything about it.
You’re absolutely right; I do not owe anyone a thing. But I will not allow people to think I’m somehow ashamed of it for even a second longer. https://t.co/lOy3gPZz0a

I appreciate this, but I feel fine. I’m not upset or angry, but enough is enough. The body shaming in general (not just me) has been allowed to go on for far too long. https://t.co/OsNQNAxFL2

If there are more tweets from Charlotte on this topic then we will post them in here as well.
She posted this photo five days from a recent photo shoot and you can tell she’s very proud of her body as she should be.

Charlotte is also engaged to current WWE Raw superstar Andrade. There’s no news on when the wedding will take place, but they got engaged around New Year’s Day earlier this year.
TJR Thoughts: It’s cool to see how honest and transparent Charlotte Flair is about it. That fan was right that Charlotte didn’t have to share any of this with us, but if she felt like comments were insensitive or they bothered her a lot then she certainly has the right to share that info. It sounds like she’ll be fine. I think her character needed a break from TV anyway and even she might agree with that, so when she comes back then it will feel fresh.
While I don’t personally know Charlotte, I am friends with people in WWE that know her and they speak admirably about her. She’s a hard worker that has produced a lot of great matches in her career. I wish her the best in surgery, recovery and whenever she returns, I’m sure the fans will welcome her back even if she is a heel.
