Bret Hart Remembers Special Moment Teaming With Jim Neidhart At SummerSlam

During an interview with Inside the Ropes, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart discussed his memorable WWE Tag Team Title win at SummerSlam 1990 with Jim Neidhart.

The show was held at the Spectrum in Philadelphia and was the third SummerSlam PPV to take place. Bret and Jim, known as the Hart Foundation, would challenge WWE Tag Team Champions Demolition at that show.

“In the building, the air conditioning went out and it was about 120 degrees outside and like an oven in that building it was so hot. So when you watch that match I was soaking sweat just like I took a shower all the way through the match.”

Bret would say it was one of the most difficult matches of his career, but everyone was happy with the match despite the difficult conditions they had to work in that night.

“That was one of the hardest matches I’ve ever had, mostly from heat exhaustion. The truth is I can remember almost fainting. I was so tired and hot and exhausted, but at the same time we were all really thrilled with the match, we thought it all went really great”.

Bret Hart also revealed what happened when they returned backstage and how much this title win meant to him.

“I remember when I came back to the dressing room the whole dressing room gave us a standing ovation with Hulk Hogan leading the clap. That was a really special moment for me because I’ve always thought me and Jim were the best team, we had a very special combination as a team”.

The Iconic WWE Match Bret Hart Wouldn’t Change At All

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart recently talked about his match with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 and said there was nothing about the match he would change at all, referring to it as “the greatest song I ever sang”.
