WWE World Championship Match Set For Next Week’s SmackDown Live

Smackdown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan announced at the conclusion of tonight’s episode that AJ Styles will be defending his WWE World Championship on next week’s Smackdown against Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose mentioned last week that he deserves a one-on-one rematch against Styles for the WWE World Championship. After defeating John Cena clean during tonight’s episode of Smackdown, Bryan awarded Ambrose an early opportunity at Styles’ World Title.

No matter the winner, the WWE World Championship will still be defended in a triple threat match between Styles, Cena and Ambrose at No Mercy on Sunday, October 9.
