Mark’s reaction:

This is a pretty solid card for a live event/house show. Two things interest me most about this special event from MSG. One is getting to see Brock Lesnar destroy the Big Show. Two, is seeing if the United States or Tag Team Championships change hands. If Cena or the New Day do in fact drop their belts, it could be interesting to see how WWE moves forward with televising their live events on the WWE Network. Attendance at WWE live events have been significantly dwindling over the years. By showing these events on their network and having titles change hands, it could raise more interest in their house shows and they may actually see attendance rise for these events once again.

Although I don’t think Cena will drop his belt, it’s possible that the New Day might drop theirs. The Dudley Boyz carry a high status with the WWE and they’re also from New York. It would be pretty cool for them to win the WWE Tag Team Championships for a record 10 times in their hometown.

Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens is a match I’m looking forward to. Pairing them against each other is something new. Other than a house show here or there, I don’t think these two have ever fought each other in a televised mach before. I’m interested to see how they play off each other and how their two styles of wrestling clash. I’m hoping this one gets about 15 to 20 minutes.

I couldn’t care less about another Ziggler vs. Rusev or Orton vs. Sheamus match. They have both been done to death; it’s really time to move on.

Side note: I saw Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show live at Survivor Series 13 years ago from MSG. I was very young at the time and it was my first WWE Pay-Per-View. Their match was solid. It was just when Brock was beginning to turn face and the crowd was really behind him. Heyman turned on Lesnar that night by knocking out the referee and giving Big Show a steel chair to use. It was a good match but the rest of the night was even better. If you haven’t seen this PPV in a while, I’d recommend going back and giving it another view. It’s one of my personal favorites and it was also the host of the first ever Elimination Chamber match in history. I still think it’s the best chamber match of them all.
