WWE: Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar Inside Hell in a Cell on October 25

TJR Wrestling

Within the first hour of last night’s Night of Champions PPV event, it was announced that The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will go one-on-one inside the 20 foot tall, 5 ton structure that is Hell in a Cell. This match will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California during what will be the WWE’s seventh annual Hell in a Cell event on October 25.

This will be the rubber match to the Lesnar/Taker feud in the last two years. Lesnar and Undertaker each have one win a piece as Brock famously put an end to The Undertaker’s WrestleMania undefeated streak in 2014 making him, at the time, 21-1 (he is now 22-1). The Undertaker got his revenge at last month’s SummerSlam by defeating Lesnar, albeit not without controversy.

Lesnar had The Undertaker in a Kimura Lock which forced him to tap out. However, the official didn’t see the tap which led to Undertaker low blowing Lesnar and applying his Hell’s Gate triangle chokehold, forcing Brock to pass out and subsequently, the match to end.

This upcoming match is part of what’s being called Brock Lesnar’s “Go to Hell” tour. The tour starts with Lesnar facing off against the Big Show at a special live event at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, October 3rd. The live event will be available to watch on the WWE Network. Next up on the tour will be Lesnar making an appearance as a guest on the Stone Cold Podcast. Each episode of Austin’s podcast runs about an hour long. It can also be watched on the WWE Network October 19th following Raw. The “Go to Hell” tour will finally conclude with Lesnar’s Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker.

WWE Hell in a Cell will be available on Pay-Per-View and the WWE Network this Sunday, October 25th at 8:00 pm EST/5:00 pm PST.

Mark’s reaction:

“This is awesome” is a phrase that gets chanted by fans and is said way too much as of late. However, this is in fact AWESOME, and for a few reasons. One is that they’re having the rubber match next month! I was worried that this feud was going to stretch out its legs all the way until the next WrestleMania. Getting this match done now is good for both these guys as it will allow them to wrap up this feud and move onto newer and fresher angles once the road to WrestleMania is underway. Secondly, what better way to finish this series than in a Hell in a Cell match? A match that The Undertaker has made famous.

While I thought their first match at WrestleMania XXX was boring, I think they corrected the ships path at SummerSlam by delivering a really entertaining and exciting match. I just hope The Undertaker prepares himself accordingly as it seems like his past few matches have resulted in either an ambulance visit or collapsing from physical exhaustion just before entering the gorilla position.

I’m pumped for this one, fingers crossed that it’s a good one. Are you guys looking forward to seeing Taker and Brock inside the “demonic” structure? Will this in fact be the end of their feud or do you see any chance in this angle continuing past Hell in a Cell? Side note: Enjoy this photo of Lesnar and Taker in their younger years. They look so innocent. I got a good laugh out of it. Thank you @MemesOfWrestlin.
