WWE Smackdown News: Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley for SD Women’s Title, Reigns vs. Rollins and WWE Draft

TJR Wrestling

It was announced by WWE today that new WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will defend her title against the former champion Bayley tonight on Smackdown in Las Vegas. Charlotte defeated Bayley for the title this past Sunday at Hell in a Cell. It was Flair’s 10th Women’s Title win in her career. She was already the record holder in terms of number of title reigns, so she continues to add to it. This huge rematch is added to an already jam-packed show this evening.

Already announced for the show is the WWE Draft, which will start tonight on Smackdown and end on RAW on Monday. A large number of celebrities will be on hand tonight to select the picks for each brand.

Kicking off Smackdown will be a matchup between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins with the winner getting the first draft pick for their perspective shows. Friday Night Smackdown will air tonight at 8PM ET on the FOX Network.

Matt’s Musings: WWE is clearly stacking tonight’s show with the hopes of maintaining the 3.8 million viewers that watched last week. Eventually, WWE is going to run out of “Gimmicks” such as the 20th anniversary show and the WWE Draft to draw an audience. Instead, they are going to have to depend on the superstars they have on the roster to create must-watch television week after week.
