WWE Rumor Update: The Undertaker Will Not Be Facing Braun Strowman At WrestleMania 32

TJR Wrestling

Braun Strowman will not be The Undertaker’s opponent at WrestleMania 32. This is being reported by Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer.

During last week’s edition of Wresting Observer Live, Alvarez stated that Strowman would be facing Big Show at the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view event on February 21. He continued by reporting that once Strowman beats Big Show at Fastlane, he’ll go on to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

However, Alvarez mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that he’s received word that those original plans to have The Undertaker vs. Braun Strowman at WrestleMania are no longer in place. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Alvarez was wrong when he initially reported that Strowman would be The Undertaker’s opponent on the “show of shows.” It could just mean that plans have changed as they frequently do in the WWE.

Mark’s reaction: I let loose a huge sigh of relief once I read this news. I was really hoping WWE wouldn’t go through with Undertaker vs. Strowman as it’s a match that doesn’t excite me much. Strowman still seems quite green in the ring and The Undertaker is at that point in his career (he’ll be 51 when WM32 rolls around) where he should really be in the ring with guys who can make him look good and elevate the match to its highest potential.

Like most, I see Kevin Owens as a suitable opponent for The Undertaker come WrestleMania time. He’s the best heel in the company. Getting to face Taker would be a nice way to compensate Owens for all his hard work during a time where WWE needed someone to step up. I also think they can pull off a fun match. One of my favorite parts of watching Owens wrestle is listening to him smack-talk his opponent and the fans. I’m sure it would be a fun moment watching Owens verbally lace into The Deadman when standing across the ring from each other.

Other possible opponents that run through my head are Chris Jericho and AJ Styles. Although the two might enter into their own WrestleMania feud, nothing has yet to be set in stone. Who would you like to see The Undertaker face at WrestleMania 32? Should he pick up the win in what could be his last WrestleMania match ever, or should he put someone over?
