WWE News: Three 24/7 Title Changes in One Day, Fox Sports Announcer Wins it

TJR Wrestling

There were three title changes involving the WWE 24/7 Title that WWE showed on their Youtube channel and across their social media channels as well. I’ll post the videos at the bottom. Here is a summary of the title changes.

The first title change happened at the Fox Founders Day 2019 in Los Angeles, which was a FOX Sports event. It actually took place on Friday, not today. As we all know, Smackdown is moving to FOX in October, so WWE stars were involved with this. Elias was on stage doing one of his “concerts” with Drake Maverick in the crowd trying to go after Elias, who was the 24/7 Champion. R-Truth snuck up behind Elias, gave him the ROLLUP OF DEATH~! and WWE referee Dan Engler was there to count the pinfall. Truth ran away from Maverick and got out of there with the 24/7 Title.

New WWE 24/7 Champion: R-Truth

That meant that R-Truth was a 13-time WWE 24/7 Champion.

There was a shot of FOX Sports College Football announcers on set in their suits. It was host Rob Stone along with Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush and Brady Quinn. Truth talked to them about how tough it was holding the 24/7 Championship with all the unique names he has for it. Truth talked about how stressed out he was. When Truth walked, he tripped and sold a head injury. That led to Stone, who was in his suit, acting as if he was checking on Truth, but instead he covered Truth and WWE’s referee Dan Engler was there to count the pin.

New WWE 24/7 Champion: Rob Stone

The title reign of Stone didn’t last that long because Elias walked up to him and did the ROLLUP OF DEATH~! to Stone and the referee counted the pin.

New WWE 24/7 Champion: Elias

R-Truth commented to Stone that it isn’t easy being the champion and Truth went running after Elias.

Elias is now a 4-time WWE 24/7 Champion.

TJR THOUGHTS: It’s a comedy title. They are having fun with it. I don’t really mind it. I also don’t complain about it. There’s no need to get worked up over something that’s just a comedic title that treated as a joke. Utilizing FOX guys isn’t that much of a surprise and I expect that to continue when WWE is in the LA area and they can use FOX personalities to try to interact with WWE’s superstars. It is smart marketing.

Here are the highlights of the three title changes.

As usual, Drake Maverick found a very entertaining way to plug WWE moving Smackdown to FOX as well.

That’s all for now.
