WWE News: Smackdown Airing on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) This Friday, Special Episode of WWE Backstage to Follow

This week’s edition of WWE Smackdown will not air on Fox. Instead, it will air on Fox Sports 1 aka FS1 in the United States. That’s because Game 3 of the Major League Baseball World Series will air on Friday night. In addition to that, WWE Backstage will air after Smackdown for one night only. Here’s the news from WWE.com today.

SmackDown moves to FS1 this Friday for one week only at its normal time of 8/7 C due to Game 3 of the 2020 World Series airing on FOX.

Following the action of SmackDown, a special one-hour WWE Backstage will also air on FS1 from the WWE ThunderDome. Then a replay of the earlier edition of the blue brand will re-air at 11/10 C.

Don’t miss all the action of Friday Night SmackDown beginning at 8/7 C on FS1.

Last year when Smackdown was on Fox Sports 1 due to a World Series game the ratings took a big hit because they had about 890,000 viewers on FS1 last year while the average number on Fox last year was around 2.4 million per episode.

There is nothing specifically advertised for Smackdown yet. It’s the last Smackdown before Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on WWE Network.
