Shane McMahon, the Commissioner of WWE Smackdown Live, was involved in an emergency landing while in a helicopter on Wednesday. The helicopter was forced to land in the Atlantic Ocean near Gilgo Beach on Long Island, New York.

The landing took place at 10:25amET according to the Federal Aviation Administration and it was about a half mile off the shore.

According to TMZ Sports, the reason for the emergency landing was an engine failure. If you’re wondering, the helicopter was a Robinson R-44 chopper. Shane was a passenger in the helicopter. Once the helicopter landed in the water, emergency crews rescued the men in the helicopter including Shane.

“I would like to thank our pilot, Mario, who did a heroic job of landing us safely in the water, the Suffolk County Marine Bureau who were first on the scene, all the lifeguards who came out to assist us and the Fire Island Coast Guard station. Everyone is safe and sound. I look forward to seeing everyone at WWE Battleground in Philadelphia this Sunday.”

Good to know is okay and that a scary situation didn’t end up much worse.
