WWE News: Shane McMahon Celebration, Raw Tag Team Titles and Miz TV Advertised for Raw This Week

TJR Wrestling

There are three things that WWE has advertised so far for Monday Night Raw tomorrow night in San Jose, California.

1. Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre will celebrate

From WWE.com: Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre have a reason to celebrate. “The Best in the World” scored a tainted victory over Roman Reigns at WWE Super ShowDown after an interfering McIntyre blasted Reigns with a Claymore Kick behind the official’s back. And now the duo is headed to Raw to commemorate their taming of The Big Dog with a victory party.

How will Shane-O-Mac revel in his win over Reigns? Find out Monday night.

I’m sure it will be riveting television. Now that’s sarcasm. Anyway, Reigns is facing McIntyre at Stomping Grounds on June 23, so they will continue to build to that.

2. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against The Revival

From WWE.com: Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins look to continue their storybook run as Raw Tag Team Champions as they take on The Revival in a WrestleMania rematch with the titles on the line this Monday night.

Will Ryder & Hawkins prove to have the numbers of Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson yet again? Or, will The Top Guys avenge their WrestleMania 35 demons en route to regaining the Raw Tag Team Titles? Tune-in Monday night at 8/7 C to find out.

It’s nice to see that WWE has remembered their Raw Tag Team Champions after ignoring them for the past month, but The Revival getting the title shot is a questionable choice. The Viking Raiders beat Ryder and Hawkins last month, yet they don’t get a title shot. The Revival just lost to The Usos at Super Showdown, yet there’s no title shot for The Usos.

This is why WWE fans have a problem with the creative team because a team loses a match like The Revival just did and they get a title shot? Weird. Wins and losses should matter. That’s part of storytelling. Instead, WWE is telling us we should just ignore the results. So why have matches then? There’s no point.

3. Miz TV will welcome Samoa Joe

From WWE.com: Samoa Joe regained the United States Championship last Monday after an injured Rey Mysterio relinquished the title to him. Now, the champion will join The Miz on Miz TV this Monday night.

The A-Lister has never seen a button he won’t push, so expect him to grill Samoa Joe on the unusual series of events that put the United States Championship back in his hands. What will the outspoken champion have to say about those controversies, along with his ugly dismantling of Mysterio last Monday? Find out when the always-memorable talk show comes at you on Raw.

This could be WWE’s way of setting up a Joe vs. Miz feud since Miz has nothing else going on these days anyway. I’d rather see Joe against Ricochet or somebody like that, but I can see WWE going with a Joe vs. Miz feud here.

There’s nothing else on WWE.com in terms of segments or matches. They mention Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, but nothing specific for any of them.

Brock Lesnar is not mentioned on the WWE preview in terms of appearing at Raw. Perhaps he’s going to be on a break with the Money in the Bank briefcase until we get closer to SummerSlam in August. I don’t know that as a fact, but it makes sense.

This week’s Raw will go up against game five of the NBA Finals where MY Toronto Raptors have a chance to close out the Golden State Warriors in five games. It should lead to a big rating, which should hurt Raw quite a bit. I will not have a live review on Monday because of the NBA game, but I’ll get the review posted on Tuesday morning.
