WWE News: Sasha Banks Dealing With Back Issue; Reason For Losing Women’s Title at SummerSlam

TJR Wrestling

Sasha Banks lost the WWE Women’s Title at SummerSlam last night, which was a surprise to a lot of people. The reason is because she has a back injury according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.

The report notes that Banks is expected to be evaluated by doctors at the beginning of September to determine the length of the injury and the rehab that will be needed to get her back in the ring.

Banks has also been removed from live events for the nest 33 days, so the estimate at this point is a month long injury, but it could be more. This was reported by WrestlingInc on Sunday night.

It was expected that Banks was going to have a much longer title reign than the fours weeks she held the title. Obvious this back injury changed those plans and WWE felt like they had to put the title back on Charlotte.

The story of the Charlotte/Banks match was Charlotte working on the back of Banks. When Banks had Charlotte in the Bank Statement submission, Charlotte rolled on top of her and pinned her. That could lead to WWE going on Raw tonight to say that Banks has a back injury and she’s out of action because of it, which is a way of working the legit injury into the storyline.

We will update you when there is further news on Banks’ status.
