WWE News: Samoa Joe Suspended 30 Days for Wellness Policy Violation
It was announced today that WWE Superstar Samoa Joe has been suspended for violating WWE’s Wellness Policy.
Here’s what WWE posted about it:
WWE has suspended Nuufolau Seanoa (Samoa Joe) for 30 days effective Monday, February 24, for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.
The cause of the failure was not announced by WWE, which is standard for them. They don’t have to say what Joe may have taken or what may have happened in order to cause the violation.
Samoa Joe is currently out of action with a concussion after he suffered a head injury while filming a WWE commercial last week, which we reported here.
Joe is 40 years old (41 on March 17), he’s won the United States Championship two times in WWE and also the NXT Championship two times. Prior to that, Joe was one of the best wrestlers in TNA Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
The suspension for 30 days means that Joe will be back in action (provided he is cleared from his concussion) just a few weeks before WrestleMania this year.
Analysis: This sucks. I’m a Joe fan and I don’t think as a “body guy” so to speak. I don’t know what he took or what may have happened to cause this. I hope he can return and continue to put in good work on the Raw brand.
