WWE News: NXT Going to UK in June – No Nakamura on Poster
It was announced by Triple H on Twitter on Wednesday that the WWE NXT crew would be heading to the United Kingdom for a tour in June. Here’s more info provided by WWE.com:
The tour begins on Monday, June 5 in Aberdeen, Scotland at the GE Oil & Gas Arena before heading to the Manchester Arena in England on Tuesday, June 6. NXT’s U.K. road trip continues on Wednesday, June 7 at Leeds’ First Direct Arena, before debuting in Brighton at the Brighton Center on Thursday, June 8.
Then, NXT heads to Derby for a three-day stint at Download Festival. Fans will get to see the Superstars of NXT alongside some of the biggest names in rock, including Aerosmith, System of a Down, Slayer, Rob Zombie. Superstars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, Asuka, Kassius Ohno and more* will take to the ring to showcase NXT’s high-octane brand of in-ring action. Festival-goers will also get the opportunity to meet the Superstars of NXT during autograph signings.
Tickets for all of these huge events will be available starting this Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m. local time. Head to livenation.co.uk for complete information on how you can see NXT in the United Kingdom this June!
It should be a great tour in front of some of the most enthusiastic WWE fans in the world.
What also stood out to me is that there is no sign of Shinsuke Nakamura on the poster that Triple H tweeted. For the past year, Nakamura has been prominently featured on nearly every NXT poster that WWE released because he’s a big name and a main event talent in NXT. However, he is absent this time while the likes of Bobby Roode, Asuka, Tye Dillinger, Kassius Ohno and Sanity are featured. It also has newcomer Aleister Black (Tommy End) on it.
Why isn’t Nakamura on there? This is an assumption on my part, but it’s probably because WWE has finally decided that it’s time to call up Nakamura to the main roster. I think it should have happened before WrestleMania. It’s looking like it will be after WrestleMania now. When and where? We don’t know that yet, but the week of WrestleMania is a possibility for sure.
UK… #AreYouReady? @WWENXT goes across the pond for #NXTLIVE & @DownloadFest from June 5-11. Tickets on sale FRIDAY at 10am GMT. #WeAreNXTpic.twitter.com/r0hY8NVD53
