WWE News: Kevin Owens Announces He is Returning to Raw or Smackdown in One Month

TJR Wrestling

Kevin Owens has been out of action since October when he had surgery on both of his knees. What we didn’t know was how long he would be out for, but Owens appeared on Raw last night in a video from a bowling alley to give us an update. Owens was at a bowling alley with his son Owen (he was in the background) and other friends.

Here’s most of what Owens said and I’ll post the full video at the bottom of this post:

“I’ve been doing a lot of this, spending as much time as I can with my family and enjoying the time with my wife and kids before I go back on the road. I’ve also been paying close attention to Raw and Smackdown Live – watch it every week. It’s actually been very rough to watch.”

“I feel like I’m watching other people do what I do best. But now I have good news. I don’t where I’m coming back – the McMahon family hasn’t told me if I’m going to Raw or Smackdown Live, but I know when I’m coming back. I’m about one more month out. One more month or so before the Kevin Owens show returns.”

That’s when he got up, grabbed a bowling ball and threw a gutterball most likely intentionally because of how his arm was positioned. I’m just guessing on that. Please don’t argue with me in the comment section below!

Owens, who has mentioned many times that he has no interest in sports, was wearing a Chicago Blackhawks hat. He went on Twitter to explain why:

If you’re wondering about KO’s close friend Sami Zayn, there’s no specific update on when he might return, but he has said it will be around WrestleMania time.

TJR Thoughts: I’m very happy that KO is back soon and one month away means he’ll be back before WrestleMania, so that’s great. Hopefully, there’s a storyline in place for him whether it’s for him to go after Bobby Lashley, who “injured” him in the storyline last fall or if he does something else.

The next PPV after Sunday’s Elimination Chamber is Fastlane in Cleveland on March 10, so perhaps that is where Owens will return or on the Raw or Smackdown that follows Fastlane.

It’s interesting that KO said it may be Raw or Smackdown because I think most people will assume he’ll just be on Raw like he was before his injury. However, since he said Raw or Smackdown it makes me think that maybe there’s a place for him as Daniel Bryan’s WrestleMania opponent for the WWE Title. I know they were at WrestleMania last year in a tag team match, but I’d love to see it as a singles feud and it would have a different feel with KO as a face. I don’t know what the plan is, but I would love that match.

Welcome back, KO. You have been missed.
