WWE News: John Cena Will Appear on Monday’s Raw and Open the Show

John Cena made his big return to WWE earlier this evening at Money in the Bank in Fort Worth, Texas. At the end of the show, Cena got a huge ovation and got in the face of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. It is believed that Cena will face Reigns at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21. That likely means that Cena will be appearing on Smackdown a lot since Reigns is on Smackdown, but Cena will actually be on Raw tomorrow (or tonight as I write this) in Dallas.

Here’s what WWE announced on their website:

It had been WAAAAY too long, but John Cena is BACK!

The 16-time World Champion’s jaw-dropping reemergence at WWE Money in the Bank sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe, and Cena will kick off Monday Night Raw to explain why he chose now to return.

The WWE Universe erupted at the sight of Cena, who stole the moment from victorious Universal Champion Roman Reigns. What will The Leader of the Cenation have in store when he heads to the red brand?

Find out tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network!

TJR Thoughts: I think it’s a smart move by WWE. Yes, we know Cena vs. Reigns is the plan, but they don’t have to announce it yet and they can have Cena appear on Raw as well. Cena might only be around for a month or two, so they might as well use him as much as he can. Cena’s presence on Raw tomorrow will boost the ratings of the show for sure. They can use the promo to set up a match later in the show and it could be tag team match to make Cena work less if that’s easier on him since he might be rusty. I’m just saying it’s smart to use Cena as much as they can.
