WWE News: Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler to Announce Part of “Raw 25” Broadcast on January 22

TJR Wrestling

It was officially announced on Monday that Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler will call the action from the Manhattan Center in New York City on next week’s “Raw 25” broadcast. The two announcers that were the main voices of the show through the 1990s and 2000s with Ross as the most beloved play by play man in WWE history while Lawler was usually the heel commentator that made a lot of jokes. Ross and Lawler entered WWE’s Hall of Fame in the same year in 2007.

While it hasn’t been officially announced yet (perhaps it will be on Raw tonight), the expectation is that the Manhattan Center portion of next week’s broadcast will be one hour with Ross and Lawler handling that portion of the show from 8pmET to 9pmET. The final two hours will be from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with the regular Raw announce team of Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Booker T calling the action. That’s the plan according to a report from WrestlingInc.

Here’s the official announcement from WWE announcer Mike Rome.

TJR Thoughts: It’s a good idea to have Ross and Lawler there for Raw 25 and call a portion of the show. Smart move by WWE.
