WWE News: Ivar of The Viking Raiders Had Neck Surgery, Expected to Miss One Year (or More) of In-Ring Action
World Wrestling Entertainment’s already dilapidated tag team division suffered another big loss this week. Ivar, who is one half of The Viking Raiders, is set to have neck surgery according to Brian Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer. Alvarez and Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer also talked about it on Wrestling Observer Radio saying that Ivar had the surgery on Monday. Meltzer said it’s about a year out or longer. When WWE has commented on it, they called it a “cervical injury” without providing any details on it.
Ivar suffered the neck injury while attempting a suicide dive during an Eight-Man Tag last week on Raw. Ivar immediately knew he was hurt after attempting the maneuver, as he started throwing up the X signal with his hands to let everyone know he was injured.
The surgery is expected to keep Ivar out of the ring until late next year. Ivar’s partner Eric did compete on Raw this week, losing quickly to Bobby Lashley.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to every single friend, family and fan who has reached out to me. My heart is truly touched from all the love and support. Still figuring it all out but I am working hard to recover and be better than ever! Love you all 💕🤘🍗 pic.twitter.com/pAgw1eqjRm
