TJR Wrestling

The dates and locations have been announced for WWE’s pay-per-view events that will take place in February and March of 2019. We already know that the Royal Rumble will be in Phoenix ‘s Chase Field (their baseball stadium) on Sunday, January 27 and WrestleMania 35 on April 7 will be at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey near New York City.

The February PPV is called Elimination Chamber and it’s on Sunday, February 17 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It will be the 9th year in a row where WWE uses the Elimination Chamber name. Last year’s Elimination Chamber featured the first ever women’s EC match to go along with the men’s match. That was a Raw only show, but this year it will be Raw and Smackdown. I have reviewed every Elimination Chamber match in WWE history, which you can check out in our archive here.

The March PPV is Fastlane and it’s taking place on Sunday, March 10 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. This will be the fifth year in a row where WWE has used the Fastlane PPV. It’s the third year in a row where Fastlane is taking place in March. WrestleMania is an early April PPV these days.

Here’s the listing of all the WWE PPVs that have already been announced in terms of their date and location.

December 16, 2018 – TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs at the SAP Center in San Jose, California

January 27, 2019 – Royal Rumble at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona

February 17, 2019 – Elimination Chamber at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas

March 10, 2019 – Fastlane at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio

April 7, 2019 – WrestleMania 35 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey

August 11, 2019 – SummerSlam at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

November 24, 2019 – Survivor Series at Allstate Arena in Chicago (Rosemont), Illinois

It looks like they are going with big markets for the most part, which is a good strategy because those cities are more likely to sell out the show. Part of the reason why brand exclusive PPVs ended last year was because attendance was poor at those events. By making it Raw AND Smackdown talent on PPVs, it has helped attendance.
