WWE News: Braun Strowman Dealing With Elbow Injury; Out 4-8 Weeks
Braun Strowman will be out of action from WWE Raw for 4-8 weeks according to report from Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin due to an elbow injury. The report notes that Strowman will be undergoing a “minor procedure to fix some issues with his elbow.”
If you’re wondering, Strowman will be on Raw tonight, which has already been taped.
The next Raw brand pay-per-view is Extreme Rules on June 4, which is less than four weeks away. I think it’s safe to assume that he is going to miss that show because even if he’s cleared in the best case scenario of four weeks, it would be smart for WWE not to risk his health by rushing him back too soon.
Strowman was rumored to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at Great Balls of Fire (yes, that’s really the PPV name) on July 9. That is two months away, so it would likely depend on if he’s good to go in one month.
TJR Thoughts: It’s an unfortunate situation because Strowman has been one of Raw’s best performers in the last few months and also a major focus on the show every week. I thought they might do Reigns vs. Strowman at Extreme Rules, but that seems unlikely now. The good news is that it’s not a major surgery and he’s only going to miss one or two months, so at least he’ll be back in action soon.
