WWE News on Big Cass Suffering Major Knee Injury On Raw; Out Nine Months
Big Cass had a rough landing on this week’s Raw when he went over the top rope after a failed big boot (a planned spot) and he landed awkwardly on the floor. Cass went back into the ring, hit a body slam on Enzo and went for the Empire Elbow drop, but he was too hurt to complete the move and fell to the mat. Cass was checked on by the referee, who then called for the doctor and they called off the match right there. Cass was visibly upset after the injury as he laid on the apron, was punching the ropes and let out a few expletives too.
The initial diagnosis provided by WWE on Monday was that it was a left knee injury and he would have a MRI today (Tuesday). The results of that MRI are now in and they are did not provide good news for Cass. Here’s what WWE’s Dr. Chris Robinson told WWE.com about it:
“It looks like he has an ACL tear, possibly a medial meniscus tear, but we’re going to wait for the radiologist to evaluate the MRI and give us their full report. A typical ACL tear takes about nine months [to recover from].”
Cass will be undergoing the knee surgery this week.
Tough injury for the big man. We wish him the best in his long road back to the ring.
