A new championship was introduced on WWE Monday Night Raw tonight – it’s called the 24/7 Title. Yes, that’s the real name. As you can see in the photo from when WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley introduced the 24/7 Title, it’s green and yellow with the numbers 24 (hours) and 7 (days) on it.

Here’s more info from the good people at WWE.com:

Live on Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley revealed the all-new 24/7 Championship, a title that can be contested anytime, anywhere, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as long as a WWE official is present. The title will be eligible to Superstars on Raw, SmackDown LIVE, 205 Live, NXT, NXT UK and even WWE Legends and Hall of Famers.

The new championship calls to mind the “24/7 Rule” of the retired Hardcore Championship, of which Foley was the initial bearer in 1998. Superstars can challenge for the title whenever or wherever they choose, meaning that any 24/7 Champion will always have a massive target on their back.

The new 24/7 Championship can change hands on Raw, SmackDown LIVE, WWE Network shows, WWE Live Events or even on social media. Now, more than ever, anything can happen in WWE.

During Raw, the title was placed in the ring and Mick Foley announced that wrestlers were encouraged to come down to the ring to try to retrieve the title. The first 24/7 Title champion was Titus O’Neil. When he tried to make his way to the back, Robert Roode attacked him and pinned him to win the 24/7 Title. Later on Raw, R-Truth helped Roode avoid other wrestlers by hiding Roode in his trunk and then Truth slammed Roode into the side of his car leading to Truth pinning Roode because he had a referee with him.

R-Truth is the current 24/7 Champion that is also part of Smackdown, so we’ll see him on Smackdown Live tomorrow night with the 24/7 Title. Here’s a tweet from R-Truth where he got the name of the title wrong because that’s what he does.
