WWE Network Announces New Content Coming Soon Including King of the Ring UK Tourney, WWE 24 Specials and More

TJR Wrestling

There’s a lot of new content coming to WWE Network. It was announced last night in a video during the Hall of Fame ceremony. I’ve inserted that video at the bottom of this post along with some of my thoughts on all of them. Here is what WWE announced.

– Pay-Per-View Broadcasts: Backlash, Money In the Bank, Extreme Rules, SummerSlam

TJR Thoughts: Those are the monthly PPV events that will go from May through to August featuring Raw and Smackdown talent. No more brand exclusive PPVs as we have covered.

– Special Events: Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27 from Saudi Arabia

TJR Thoughts: It’s a huge show in Saudi Arabia with a 50-man Royal Rumble, 7 title matches and John Cena vs. Triple H. We have covered that show extensively on the site as well.

– WWE King of the Ring UK Tournament

TJR Thoughts: Good to see WWE bringing back some UK wrestling action. It’s been too long without it. The tapings are expected to be in June.

– The 2nd Annual Mae Young Classic

TJR Thoughts: Last year’s women’s wrestling tournament was a big success, so doing it again is a smart idea. We know WWE loves pushing women’s wrestling and doing the MYC again helps that a lot.

– WWE 24: The Hardys – Woken, WWE 24: RAW 25, WWE 24: Ronda Rousey

TJR Thoughts: Those specials are great. Judging from the clips they have, Matt and Jeff Hardy are each going to open up about their drug problems in the past, so it sounds like it will be pretty in-depth. I think the WWE 24 documentaries on Raw 25 and Rousey will be awesome too.

– WWE 365: AJ Styles

TJR Thoughts: This would be the second WWE 365 show. The first one was about Kevin Owens. The idea is they show clips of one year of a wrestler’s career and some behind the scenes action as well. Styles is a good choice.

– Something Else to Wrestle Podcast with Bruce Prichard

TJR Thoughts: I’m a huge fan of Bruce’s “Something to Wrestle With” podcast that he does with Conrad Thompson, so it was a nice surprise to see this announced as a WWE Network show. They’ll do a great job with it even though it will be less raunchy on WWE Network than it is as a podcast.

– Elias: Unplugged

TJR Thoughts: It’s some feature on Elias whether it’s him just playing music or a concert. We don’t know the details yet, but he did perform at a bar in New Orleans this weekend, so that could be part of it.

– New seasons of returning shows: The Edge and Christian Show, Ride Along, Camp WWE, Table For 3, WWE Story Time

TJR Thoughts: I’m most excited about Edge and Christian’s show being back because they are hilarious and do a great job with it. They filmed content over a year ago and are filming more during WrestleMania weekend, so I’m glad that it’s returning for a full season. I enjoy Ride Along and Table for 3. I don’t usually watch Camp WWE or WWE Story Time. They just aren’t that funny to me.

Here’s the video that aired and Bruce Prichard talking about his show.
