WWE Launches Performance Center Website, Triple H Comments

World Wrestling Entertainment announced on Monday that they have launched a new website dedicated to their WWE Performance Center in Orlando located at WWEPerformanceCenter.com. It’s a very good site that will allow users to check out what goes on at the WWE PC in terms of training and people interested in training at the WWE PC can even apply by using a link on the site.

Here’s more from WWE.com:

Starting today, you can head to WWEPerformanceCenter.com to learn all about WWE’s state-of-the-art facility, which opened its doors in Orlando, Fla., on July 11, 2013. Since its inception, dozens of Raw and SmackDown Superstars — from Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss, to Charlotte Flair and Chad Gable — have learned the ropes there, and the facility continues to be the training home for more than 70 NXT Superstars and rookies hailing from all around the world.

Tailored to athletes who are interested in pursuing a career in sports-entertainment, the new website features information about the WWE recruitment process and provides a detailed look at what day-to-day life is like for NXT Superstars and members of the WWE PC roster.

The online hub includes step-by-step instructions on how to apply for a tryout, as well as access to the official application form; an overview of the many resources available to WWE PC recruits, from professional development and life-skills services, to in-ring training and on-site medical care; photos of the entire Performance Center roster, including current NXT Superstars and champions; biographies of the WWE PC’s industry-leading coaching staff; testimonials from Raw and SmackDown Superstars like John Cena and Finn Bálor; and videos from past tryouts, both those held at the Performance Center and internationally.

The man at the center of all this is Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque. Triple H runs the WWE’s developmental system, he was the one that helped to create the Performance Center and runs NXT.

Triple H spoke to Sports Illustrated about it. Here’s how he explained how the Performance Center website came to be.

“The hardest part about this business is there is no pathway. We’re creating a pathway. Vince and I spoke about it, and he said, ‘Let’s go do it.’ We are going around the world to look for international stars. If you want a career in the WWE, here is how to go about it. There is advice on what to expect at tryouts and testimonials from people who have careers in WWE. It’s all about creating the pathway, and this will really open the faucet and allow talent to flood in from a global level.”

Triple H also talked about how WWE is recruiting talent globally all the time:

“We’re recruiting globally, finding stars around the world. WWE is this global product that is seen everywhere and has massive appeal, almost on a level where there is nothing quite like that. American football does not translate a lot overseas, cricket doesn’t translate everywhere in the world. Soccer is probably the closest to it, but we have this amazing product that is globally massive. Seventy percent of our viewership across all our platforms comes from outside of the US. We want to keep the world engaged. Our goal is to find local talent to try out with the WWE, train them locally, then see the talent eventually move to the US, become part of a global brand in NXT, go to Raw, go to SmackDown, and then be a part of WrestleMania. What is that engagement then to those fans in that area? That’s transformative to a global audience. We’re one of the biggest, most watched products in India. But if we can take local, homegrown talent from India and create stars, there will be an even deeper involvement. We are a truly global brand. We tour globally and the product exists globally. It’s the global localization of the world, and engaging with local markets in a grassroots manner leads to an even greater local presence.”

It’s a smart move for WWE to launch a website that will allow people to send in videos of them in a wrestling ring. It also gives people more information about the process, which is obviously a good thing as well.
