WWE: Jim Ross Thinks Seth Rollins is Overexposed
Since becoming a singles competitor, the last two years have been big ones in Seth Rollins’ WWE career. In 2014 he broke apart from his fellow Shield members, won the Money in the Bank contract, and was captain for Team Authority in the traditional Survivor Series tag team elimination match. In 2015 he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase in the main event match of WrestleMania. He currently holds both the United States and the WWE World Heavyweight Championships, and has had feuds with John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose and now even Sting. These past two years have certainly been ones that will be looked back at as giant stepping stones in Rollins’ career. Although Rollins has been on a roll lately, his current position in the WWE has audiences seeing quite a lot of him.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently took to Twitter to mention how although he is a big fan of Seth Rollins’ work, he feels that he is clearly being overexposed. J.R. wrote:
I'm a big @wwesethchamp fan. He gets it. Taking heel game to next level but he's clearly over exposed. Count outs & DQ's on #Raw=uninspired

Ross clarified to those who took his remarks as being disparaging toward Rollins, saying:
After I made an error and got woodshedded I meant to say I'm enjoying @WWERollins heel work. He's still overexposed

With three hours of Monday Night RAW and two hours of SmackDown every week, you think the WWE would have no problem figuring out a way to build multiple different feuds and give each one of them enough time to tell a story that people can care about and invest in. As nice as that sounds, it’s not the case. Personally, I love watching Rollins every week. I’ve followed his career for a long time and getting the chance to see him as WWE Champion, in a position at the top of the company, is not only awesome but I feel is rightfully deserved. However, twenty minute promos at the start of every RAW, and sometimes more talking segments in the final fifteen minutes of RAW, will eventually start to bore anyone (as seen in the “boring” chants his opening to RAW got this past Monday).
Rollins has gone from having his mic skills be his biggest detriment, to being one of his strongest assets. He has really grown into a terrific speaker. It’s just… as fans we can only take so much talking. How about instead of starting the show with a twenty minute monologue, we get a ten to fifteen minute match that has Rollins winning (not by DQ or count out) and coming across looking strong. After he dominates he could smack talk on the mic for five minutes about how awesome he is and that’s that. The announcers could set up some of the matches for the rest of the show in 30 seconds. I feel that it’s really just the tediously long and constant promos that sometimes feel like we see too much of him. Really though, let’s just be happy it’s not more of John Cena we’re seeing.
