WWE Extreme Rules 2021 Preview
John: Welcome to the TJRWrestling WWE Extreme Rules preview. It’s the show that is supposed to feature unique match types, some of which are extreme, but this year’s show is lacking in terms of creative stipulations. As is the case with most WWE PPVs, a lot of talented people are going to be sitting this one out since they have such a deep roster.
It’s especially weird that they didn’t announce something like Big E defending the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley for this show. No WWE Championship match on a PPV is so strange. I know Big E only recently won it, but I figured he would have been announced for a match. I think if a match gets added late it will probably be something like Kevin Owens vs. “Happy” Baron Corbin. Keeping guys like Randy Orton & Riddle off the PPV is a strange move too. I don’t know why WWE decided to leave some of these people off the show. On the plus side, at least nobody is a match where the loser will “lose” an eye like last year. That was so lame.
Something to keep in mind regarding this show is that the WWE Draft is starting on Friday, October 1 and concluding on Monday, October 4. That means they are going to change things up again, which could lead to some title changes that may not have been obvious beforehand.
Joining me for the preview are TJRWrestling writers Lance Augustine, Matthew Fowler, Joel McIntyre, Alex Podgorski, Marc Madison and Kelly Dishnow. Here are some thoughts from Alex and then we’ll get to the preview.
Alex: I almost forgot this show was taking place. Forgive me, but there was too much happening outside WWE for me to really care that much about WWE at this time. AEW has been on fire for over a month now and NJPW is in G1 mode. Needless to say, both of those companies are putting on much more exciting wrestling than…whatever this show is meant to be. Six matches have been announced so far and only one of them is an actual Extreme Rules match, which begs the question of why they bother with these show names in the first place. Anyways, I’m still going to try and give the WWE the benefit of the doubt and see if anything on this show can match Bryan/Omega, Takagi/Ishii or Tanahashi/Okada XIV. It’ll be tough, but who knows, maybe they’ll have some nice surprises for us.

Liv Morgan vs. Carmella
Lance: Just when it looked like Morgan was going to get a push, she seems to be floundering once again. I like both of these women, but this match has zero heat going in. I am obligated to select a winner so I will say that Carmella wins.
Winner: Carmella
Matthew: The only positive thing going for this match is that Morgan gets to be in a PPV singles match, so congrats to her. As for the actual match, it feels like a match that belongs on Smackdown instead of a PPV. I will go with Morgan winning in a quick match, that half the live crowd will miss because they are in the bathroom.
Winner: Liv Morgan
Kelly: With Liv losing on Smackdown, I’m going to go with the old Lose on TV, Win on PPV theory and pick Liv to win and Carmella to get drafted to Raw to be with boyfriend Corey Graves. Just keep it short.
Winner – Liv Morgan
Joel: I am glad Liv Morgan gets a pay-per-view match. It hasn’t exactly been built up well but there are three women’s matches on this show so that’s pretty cool at least. Liv should get the win here especially after losing to Zelina on Smackdown.
Winner: Liv Morgan
Marc: I know this will sound wrong for me to say, but I just don’t get the Liv Morgan appeal. It’s nothing personal. Her documentary on the Network was supposed to be quite telling and one fans connected to. Instead, I’ll have to likely watch it to get what everyone else tends to see about her. As a member of the Riott Squad, Morgan was the least experienced of the trio. Anything she did wasn’t valued as much, it seems, as others in the group. That said, Morgan has shown exceptional growth to get her to this point. She and Carmella will put on the best match they can, but will they move as fluently as, say, the other women’s matches on the card? It isn’t likely. But if Morgan is in the midst of a push, this could be her night.
Winner: Liv Morgan
John: I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, it’s nice to see a women’s match on PPV that isn’t for a title because that’s rare. Plus, I really like Liv Morgan and I think the fans do too. She has a bright future if WWE ever gets behind her the right way. On the other hand, it just doesn’t feel like a PPV match in terms of the build. They have had some minor issues I guess, but does it really need to be on this show? I’m not sure. A lot of talented people are off this show, yet this match is on and it doesn’t feel like a big deal. Anyway, it should be a win for Morgan.
Winner: Liv Morgan
United States Championship: Damian Priest (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy
Lance: It’s awesome that Priest is getting a chance to show what he can do with a title run on the main roster. He has been impressive since being called up and has got some big wins over established talent. Sheamus and Jeff Hardy are both good workers, but I can’t help but think that Jeff Hardy could be doing so much more with the company. Give Priest more time with the title and let him get another win over top talent and add it to the resume.
Winner and STILL United States Champion: Damian Priest
Matthew: Congrats to the WWE for realizing that they were wasting Jeff Hardy by having him chase for the worthless 24/7 title. Unfortunately for Hardy however, I think he is only in this match to take the pin. Priest has the potential to be a main event star for the WWE in the next year, and I do not see them derailing his momentum here. Priest will pick up the win over Hardy, after what should be a pretty good match.
Winner: Damian Priest
Kelly: This should be an all-around fun time. The Priest/Sheamus rivalry has been going for a little bit, so adding Hardy into the mix will help make it feel fresh. I think that Hardy was added to make things a little more “extreme”. This should be another successful title defense for Priest.
Winner – Damian Priest
Alex: I know WWE genuinely doesn’t care about their titles and sees them as props, but some fans still do. A title change does still mean something to a few people. As such, a title change here wouldn’t make any sense. Priest is still enjoying his push (if you want to call it that), and neither Sheamus nor Hardy would gain much from winning the belt whereas Priest would lose a lot of momentum. And I think that’s too much of a risk for someone that WWE is trying to make into (some semblance of) a top star.
Winner and STILL United States Champion: Damian Priest
Joel: I wasn’t that interested in another Priest/Sheamus match. They’ve put on good matches, but I felt like it was time to move on. Adding Jeff Hardy adds a nice bit of intrigue. I still think Damian Priest walks out the winner here. He just won the title a month ago at Summerslam. I can’t see him losing it this early.
Winner (And STILL United States Champion): Damian Priest
Marc: The inclusion of Hardy is certainly a fun one. What fans on social media have been clamoring for is to have him play a more significant role on-screen. Each of these men holds the distinction of being a United States Champion. This time around, the difference is that while one man is the least likely to walk away as the champion (in Hardy), it isn’t to say that his role is important. Whether it was coincidental that Sheamus’ face exploded when he took off his mask or legitimately shouldn’t be taking it off, he is at risk of getting his nose broken again. It feels like on this night, we see Priest retain his championship.
Winner: AND STILL United States Champion, Damian Priest
John: Priest won the US Title from Sheamus at SummerSlam last month. Instead of doing a rematch, WWE decided to have Jeff Hardy beat Sheamus on Raw to add Jeff to the match. While it’s possible that WWE could go with a Jeff win to try to give him a renewed push, I get the feeling that Priest is going to hold the title for a few months at least. They should have a very good match in the 10-15 minute range with all three guys coming close to winning at different times. I’ll go with Priest getting the win over Hardy.
Winner: Damian Priest
Smackdown Tag Team Championships: The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits
Lance: These two teams have been going at it ever since The Street Profits hit the ring to help Finn Balor from taking a beatdown from The Bloodline. They have had a couple of matches leading up to this one, so we have a feel for how the two work together. I will say The Usos will retain here, but this is another match where either outcome makes sense.
Winner(s) and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos
Matthew: The Usos are currently having the most successful run of the careers as part of The Bloodline with Roman Reigns. The Street Profits on the other hand seem to me to be top candidates to be drafted to Raw in a couple weeks. Therefore, the results of this one seems pretty obvious to me. I will go with the Usos winning, in what will be a great match.
Winner: The Usos
Kelly: This match should be off the hook crazy. I expect this match to be the opener. Their two previous encounters were really good, so I can’t wait to see what they held back for this match. It feels like they have great chemistry together and this has the potential to steal the show. I would like to see both teams win, so it makes the decision a little tough for me. One team does have more momentum going for them right now and I don’t expect this to be their last match.
Winners – The Usos
Alex: This will be your token ‘exciting high-flyer match’. Both teams are known for their explosive comebacks and high-flying offense, so you’ll see lots of that here. Since the Usos are great as obnoxious villains and the Profits are great hype men, they’ll have solid chemistry in their in-ring story. This will be fine, but nothing special. If you’ve seen one Usos match or one Profits match, you’ve seen them all. I don’t expect any real deviations or surprises here, especially since this match has no stipulations.
Winners and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos
Joel: I’m definitely looking forward to this match. These teams have the ability to put on classics just like The Usos did with The New Day if they’re given time, I think The Street Profits will put on a hell of a show. However, I don’t see The Usos dropping those titles anytime soon. Keep an eye out for that third Uso as well.
Winners (And STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions): The Usos
Marc: Of any two teams on either Raw or SmackDown, these two feel like the ones that will have the most exciting matchup. Add to it that the SmackDown Tag Team Championships are at stake; we are sure to have a match that will be battling wire to wire. This past week on SmackDown, Roman Reigns squared off with Montez Ford in the show’s main event. How will Ford be after facing Reigns this past week? Dawkins was absent on this night which made Ford a sitting duck battling the WWE Universal Champion. For Jimmy and Jey Uso, the current champions, they don’t need any help retaining it, but they may very well have that going into this match.
Winners: AND STILL SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos
John: They have wrestled before, so it’s not like a first-time ever match or anything like that. Their matches are usually good because The Usos are incapable of having a bad match if they get time while The Street Profits are a likable babyface team that’s full of energy. The fans should be into it. I think The Street Profits will come close to winning multiple times, but in the end The Usos should do some double team move to finish them off. My feeling is that The Usos win the match to keep the titles while I think The Street Profits (and Bianca Belair since she’s married to Montez Ford) are heading to Raw.
Winners: The Usos
Raw Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
Lance: Flair has been on a tear since returning from injury which includes collecting her 12th World Title win last month. Bliss is no stranger to the title scene having multiple reigns herself, but this is her first shot with her current gimmick. It’s weird, but it’s starting to grow on me. The only thing we can hope about this one is that there is more about wrestling and less about whatever Bliss is supposed to posses. The thing about this match is that either one could walk out the champion and I wouldn’t be stunned. I will say Flair retains, but Bliss will win the title sometime down the line.
Winner and STILL Raw Women’s Champion: Charlotte Flair
Matthew: Charlotte is unquestionably one of not only one of the greatest women wrestlers of all time, but one of the greatest wrestlers period. Watching her be wasted in a ridiculous feud with Bliss (who is also being wasted in this stupid gimmick) has been painful to watch every week. Unfortunately, WWE seems to be all in with Bliss and her magical doll. Taking that into account plus the fact that WWE wants to give Charlotte as many title reigns as possible, I believe a title change is happening here. Bliss will get the win after some stupid magic stuff that the crowd will be bored for (but won’t leave for, Dave!)
Winner and New Raw Women’s Champion: Alexa Bliss
Kelly: Thankfully, it’s not Nia Jax here like it looked a couple of weeks ago. I’m not the biggest fan of either of these two. I think the one thing that is going to decide how this match ends is one simple word: Merchandising. If the Lilly doll is a hot seller, Alexa will pick up the win so Lilly can have her own miniature version of the title, like we saw them already create for Charly. A Bliss win also allows Charlotte to pad her stats when she eventually regains the championship. If Lilly isn’t a hot seller, then Super Charlotte will steamroll right over her.
Winner – Alexa Bliss
Alex: It’s a sad state of affairs when the top contender to RAW’s Women’s Title it a walking anti-drug PSA. But apparently this twisted mixture of cocaine and Vince dreams sells a lot of merchandise and has lots of fans (seriously, HOW?!). Because of that, and because Bliss has a love for weirdness, I think that’s how she’ll beat Charlotte. Bliss knows she can’t out-wrestle Charlotte, so she’ll lull her into a false sense of security before unleashing her inner Carrie. Some shenanigans will ensue and Bliss will use that to win the match. Is that nonsensical? Probably. But then again, what do you expect with Alexa Bliss?
Winner and NEW RAW Women’s Champion: Alexa Bliss
Joel: I would like this match a lot more if it was the old Alexa Bliss. If she is allowed to wrestle and the match isn’t filled with the hocus pocus stuff, I think this will be a very good match. I think we are in for a lengthy reign for The Queen, so I don’t see her dropping the title here.
Winner (And STILL Raw Women’s Champion): Charlotte Flair
Marc: Of any of the matches on the card, this one intrigues me the most. It may be the first time these two faced each other as part of a program of any kind. Flair’s confidence has often been seen as frustrating to those watching. So it is that frustration that she demonstrates so well is likely why many want to see her knocked off her pedestal. On the other hand, Alexa Bliss’ character metamorphosis has been fun. She has scaled back on being creepy and been more in line with simply dark and, at times, odd. Could this be the night where Bliss can get into Flair’s head? Will ‘Charlie’ play a factor in this match? It has been some time since Bliss has held either the Raw or SmackDown Women’s championship. Could this be the night where Twisted Bliss just can’t miss?
Winner: AND NEW Raw Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss
John: I admit that I didn’t love this feud at the start, but their last promo exchange on Raw was really good, so I give them credit for making us care about the matchup. Charlotte is the cocky heel champion that is obsessed with being the champion while Bliss is all about the mind games that involve having an evil doll supporting her and the fans like her too. Their roles are clearly defined, so that’s cool with me. I don’t think that Bliss, in her current form, needs the title or that she is going to win. Flair hasn’t had a long reign this time, so I can see her keeping it. Charlotte usually has good matches and Bliss is solid at times, which makes me think they can have an above-average match unless they go overboard on the doll voodoo bullshit. Charlotte wins.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Smackdown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair
Lance: Lynch made her surprise return last month at Summerslam. In even more shocking fashion, she swiftly beat Bianca Belair to win The Smackdown Women’s Title. Now, they have been building the rematch which we will get on this show. I thought Belair losing the title was a tad premature, but at least the person that beat her is a legit star. Since Lynch just won the title, I can’t see her losing it for a while. Much like Reigns, whoever beats Lynch will start to get a heavy push.
Winner and STILL Smackdown’s Women’s Champion: Becky Lynch
Matthew: Finally, a match that I am actually excited for on this card. Since returning, Becky Lynch has done an awesome job of turning the fans against her. Belair for her part has continued doing a great job of getting the fans behind her, since losing the title in quick fashion at SummerSlam. The WWE has wanted to see these two have a proper match since their disappointing first “match” at SummerSlam. I expect these two to have the match of the night, with Lynch cheating in some way to get the win and keep the title.
Winner: Becky Lynch
Kelly: I’m having a really hard time with this match. I know the purpose of Lynch is to make Belair into a bigger superstar and the top face. I also think this feud is to flip Lynch into a top heel for Smackdown. I want Belair to win the title back, but think it is too soon for that to happen. Belair will reclaim her title, just not right now. The match will be longer than 27 seconds since WWE has time to properly promote it.
Winner – Becky Lynch
Alex: This would’ve been a much more exciting match if that SummerSlam nonsense never happened. Belair went from being relatively cool and dominant to just another interchangeable face. And let’s be honest, she’s not winning the belt back here. Becky Lynch is on a completely different level from Belair and that company isn’t going to sacrifice Lynch to re-elevate Belair, even though they should. WWE has found themselves in a lose-lose situation, and it’s their own damn fault. If Lynch wins, Belair will be further weakened and relegated to insignificance. If Belair loses, then Lynch’s heel turn will have meant nothing beyond a stupid blink-and-you’ll-miss-it ‘shock’. If WWE really thinks that’s good booking, then they must really think little of their audience.
Winner and STILL SmackDown Women’s Champion: Becky Lynch
Joel: I’m a little skeptical about this match. On one hand, you can’t have Bianca lose two pay-per-views in a row. On the other hand, you can’t really have Becky’s reign last only a month. I think this has been probably the best built match on the card, but I just feel like there is going to be some negativity regardless of the outcome. I’m going with Becky on this although I am not sure about it.
Winner (And STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion): Becky Lynch
Marc: There is no denying there were several fans skeptical of Lynch’s title win in 26 seconds. Whether people believed it completely undid what Belair had worked to achieve over the past ten months. Since her return, Lynch has shown a complete turn. The beloved face has become an arrogant heel. For Belair to regain the title so quickly would be somewhat surprising. Is it likely to happen? I don’t believe so, but anything can happen. Lynch’s reign as champion doesn’t feel like it will end anytime soon. Therefore, it looks like it will be Big Time Becks retains her title.
Winner: AND STILL SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch
John: Becky has only had one televised match since her return and that was only 26 seconds when she beat Belair in a cheap manner. Since then, they have wrestled eachother several times at live events, so I am sure they have practiced some spots and will have some cool stuff planned for this match. I already alluded to it earlier that I think Bianca Belair is going to be heading to Raw with The Street Profits, which includes husband Montez Ford. It’s just a hunch I guess, but I think we’ll see Belair as Charlotte Flair’s long-term rival after the draft. I could be way off on that. Maybe Belair wins here and Lynch is the one to Raw or they simply have more rematches. My feeling is that Lynch is going to keep the title by heel tactics although I really don’t think it’s a lock. Belair certainly has a shot to get the title back. It’s just not my prediction.
Winner: Becky Lynch
Extreme Rules Match for the WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. “Demon” Finn Balor
Lance: I like that the Demon gimmick is back for a big-time match. Balor has had a nice run on the main roster since coming back from NXT so it’s only fitting that he gets a title shot on a show like this. On the flipside, Roman Reigns is currently enjoying one of the top heel runs in recent WWE history. He has been a dominant champion for over a year and they are setting him up to lose to an up and comer that will put them on the map. As far as this match goes, this one should be competitive with a lot of good spots, but I don’t think anyone is picking Balor to be the one to dethrone the Head of the Table. I do think Brock Lesnar plays a part in the match, though, where he tries to cost Reigns the title, but Reigns finds a way to pull it out.
Winner and STILL WWE Universal Champion: Roman Reigns
Matthew: For the first time in almost two years Finn Balor will be wrestling as the “Demon” when he faces Reigns for The Universal Championship this Sunday. The “Demon” Finn Balor’s only loss is way back 2016 to Samoa Joe in NXT, with him being undefeated on the main roster. As for Reigns, he is having the run of his career and is already announced to be facing Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel next month. This puts WWE in a difficult position, as due to it being an Extreme Rules Match, someone has to lose. Unfortunately for Balor, I think that someone is going to be him. I expect that we will see Lesnar make an appearance in this match, laying out both competitors. This will lead to Roman getting a cheap win, to continue on as champion.
Winner: Roman Reigns
Kelly: Prior to them making this an Extreme Rules match, I had the Demon winning by DQ to keep him undefeated, since we all know Balor is not winning this match. The Demon is one of the few characters left that legitimately can beat Roman for the Universal Championship. Unfortunately for Balor, they’ve already announced Roman/Brock for next month. This is classic Vince, though. Ratings are down, so let’s put the title on Brock. Survivor Series with Roman/Big E could be fun but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Now that there must be a clear winner for this match, I foresee an overbooked hot mess for our main event. Remember, it’s all legal.
Winner – Roman Reigns
Alex: Let’s face it: No matter how cool Balor and his Demon alter-ego are, he was never going to be a top guy on the main roster. Short and injury-prone, making him ‘the guy’ is too big a risk for Vince McMahon, regardless of how much merch Balor may sell. Because of that, Reigns is going to mop the floor with him. Balor might go for an all-out explosive offense to catch Reigns off guard, but it won’t be enough. Reigns will out-power him and leave him laying like everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, this’ll probably be the match of the night. But if you’re expecting a re-telling of David and Goliath here, you’ve come to the wrong place.
Winner and STILL WWE Universal Champion: Roman Reigns
Joel: Other than Becky and Bianca, this is the match I’m looking forward to the most. Roman Reigns has not been pinned since December of 2019. That is amazing. I know he took five months off in 2020, but it is still amazing. I don’t think Finn Balor is going to be the one to get that elusive pinfall on Reigns. It will be a hard-fought match but in the end, with it being Extreme Rules, you can pretty much count on The Usos helping Roman Reigns get the victory.
Winner (And STILL Universal Champion): Roman Reigns
Marc: Have you ever felt some things just run their course? In the case of the Demon, it feels like it had its time and place. However, what is likely not the decision to bring The Demon back ignores Balor’s attitude with the re-emergence of the Prince character. While it isn’t likely the Demon will be successful, there is always a chance. With that said, Roman Reigns’ title reign has been nothing short of dominant. He is at the top of his game, and if anyone knocks Reigns off his pedestal, it would have to be someone that makes him feel uncomfortable. While Brock Lesnar is likely next in line for the title, that isn’t on this night. However, he will be waiting for Reigns after this night.
Winner: AND STILL Universal Champion, Roman Reigns
John: This should be a very good match. Most Roman Reigns matches over the last year have been very good to great because they always get a lot of time, Roman sells well for his opponent and I think Balor is an outstanding wrestler too. Since the “Demon” version of Balor hasn’t lost, they have that angle to sell the match to see if Reigns is the guy to finally beat the Demon. I don’t think the undefeated “Demon” record has been pushed that hard on television because I assume Reigns will win, so WWE would rather avoid making a big deal out of an undefeated streak.
The big question here is: Does Brock Lesnar show up? If he does, could Lesnar cause Reigns to lose the title? If so, that means when Lesnar faces Reigns at Crown Jewel next month then it would be a non-title match. My feeling is that Lesnar shows up after the match, he’ll kick Roman’s ass and the fans will leave happy to see Brock standing tall.
I’m expecting this match to get in the 20-25 minute range. Balor will come close to winning several times, but in the end it’s all about acknowledging the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns as the WWE Universal Champion.
Winner: Roman Reigns
BONUS TOPICS!
The Match I’m Looking Forward To The Most
Lance: Balor vs. Reigns.
Matthew: Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair.
Kelly: Roman/Demon.
Alex: Reigns vs. Balor.
Joel: Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair.
Marc: Alexa Bliss/Charlotte Flair – both have had dominant runs their times as champions, and it feels like it could be a way for Bliss to regain singles gold once again. While Balor and Reigns is likely to be the best match, it is about what hasn’t been done that appeals the most and Bliss and Flair would be it.
John: Roman Reigns vs. “Demon” Finn Balor.
The Match I Care About The Least
Lance: Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.
Matthew: Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.
Kelly: Flair/Bliss.
Alex: Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.
Joel: Liv Morgan vs Carmella.
Marc: Morgan/Carmella feels like everything came about too quickly.
John: Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.
Longest Match
Lance: I will go with Reigns vs. Balor.
Matthew: Balor vs. Reigns.
Kelly: Roman/Demon.
Alex: Reigns vs. Balor.
Joel: Roman Reigns vs Finn Balor.
Marc: It will involve the Bloodline. Either the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match, as each of those in this contest, is incredibly athletic. Or the Universal Championship, as both men are capable of telling a compelling story over a longer period of time in the ring.
John: Roman Reigns vs. “Demon” Finn Balor. Probably 20 minutes or more.
Shortest Match
Lance: Morgan vs. Carmella.
Matthew: Morgan vs. Carmella.
Kelly: Morgan/Carmella.
Alex: Charlotte vs. Alexa (because, hijinks).
Joel: Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.
Marc: Liv Morgan/Carmella is likely to be the shortest match of the night. Just not confident they will be given enough time to put on a competitive match.
John: Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.
Excitement Level on a Scale of 1-10 (1 being low, 10 being high)
Lance: I am going with a 6. Reigns vs. Balor should be good, and I think Lynch vs. Belair has potential, but other than that, this show has some forgettable matches on it.
Matthew: 4. This whole show feels like a throwaway PPV, that was squeezed in between SummerSlam and the Saudi Show in October. With AEW firing on all cylinders right now, you would think WWE would attempt to put out a better show than this. Besides for Lynch and Belair and Balor and Reigns, the rest of the card is forgettable and nothing that is much watch TV.
Kelly: 6. The reappearance of The Demon has me interested along with Belair getting a proper match with Lynch. Usos/Street Profits should be great as well.
Alex: 3. I’m just not that into this show. There’s nothing really captivating or special here beyond the universal title match, and even that match is pretty much a foregone conclusion. It’s like WWE is barely putting in any effort to make their shows must-see. And if they’re not giving you their best, is it really worth your money?
Joel: 6.5. I think it will be a solid show. With half the matches being women’s matches, the show probably isn’t going to go long but I think every match, even Liv and Carmella, has the chance to be solid or really good but it is clear that this is just a placeholder show until the draft next week.
Marc: 6.
John: I’m around a 6.75 for this show. I have faith in the talent putting on some good matches. I think the two women’s title matches have sleeper potential to be better than some people might think, there’s a solid chance the US Title match will be above average while the Smackdown Tag Team Title could be amazing. I expect Reigns/Demon to be outstanding. I just think WWE was a bit lazy in coming up with this card. They are missing a lot of key guys and champions that should be involved. Instead, it’s a weaker effort than what they are capable of.
In Closing
John: I’ll be back with a review of WWE Extreme Rules on TJRWrestling.net on Sunday night or it might be early Monday tomorrow. I’m not sure if it will be live.
