It was announced on Tuesday that WWE will be bringing back Tough Enough to the USA Network on Tuesday June 23rd. They also announced that Smackdown is moving from Syfy to USA Network in the first quarter of 2016. Here’s the info from WWE.com.

NEW YORK, N.Y., and STAMFORD, Conn. — USA is expanding its commitment to WWE, with reality competition series “WWE Tough Enough” returning Tuesday, June 23, at 8/7 C with a reimagined format and new, live elements. Additionally, SmackDown is coming to USA Network in the first quarter of 2016.

“WWE consistently delivers one of the largest and most socially engaged live audiences in entertainment and we’re excited to expand our long-standing relationship and be the true cable home for the WWE fan,” USA Network President Chris McCumber said.

“WWE is proud to have SmackDown join Raw as part of our expanded partnership with USA Network,” WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon said. “The combination of the No. 1 cable network and two ratings juggernauts provides a destination for our viewers and an extraordinary platform for our partners.”

Earlier this year, USA announced the renewal of “WWE Tough Enough.” The reimagined series will feature an all-new format with live elements and more fan participation than ever before. In addition, WWE recently unveiled a new brand campaign “For The Hero In All of US,” that engages consumers through #MyHeroIs, inviting fans to name their favorite WWE Superstars and to share personal and inspirational stories of heroism.

TJR Thoughts: The Tough Enough announcement was expected. We just didn’t know the day. We still don’t know who the host of the show will be, who the trainers might be and some other aspects of it, but at least we know it’s coming in two months. There should be more Tough Enough news coming out soon.

For those people wondering why it’s not on WWE Network it’s pretty simple. USA pays them. They make money producing it for them. Everybody has a price!

Steve Austin apparently won’t be a part of the show. He’s got his own reality show on CMT that’s keeping him busy.

As for the Smackdown move to USA Network in early 2016, it’s not that big of a deal although it will be easier for WWE fans to find it since USA Network is a bigger channel. Syfy is part of the NBC Universal umbrella already just like USA Network is. It must mean that USA Network is really happy with WWE if they’re going to dedicate another night of the week to WWE programming. Hopefully they aren’t going to make Smackdown three hours because that expansion has hurt Raw.

Are you a Tough Enough fan? I’ve always liked it, but the winner of the last season amounted to nothing so it felt like a bit of a waste. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
