Updated WWE NXT Takeover Portland Lineup for Feb. 16 Including NXT Title Match

TJR Wrestling

The next WWE Network special is not a Raw/Smackdown pay-per-view, but it’s the first-ever NXT Takeover special on a Sunday night as NXT presents NXT Takeover Portland on Sunday, February 16 from the Moda Center.

On this week’s edition of NXT, we learned of two more matches added to the card.

Adam Cole will defend the NXT Championship against Tommaso Ciampa, who claimed he deserved a shot since he never lost the title and was only forced to give it up due to injury. The match was made official with a contract signing that involved Ciampa putting Cole through a table and then Ciampa wiped his own blood on the contract after he was cut open.

The other match that was made official was when The BroserWeights team of Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne won the Dusty Classic Tag Team Tournament by beating the Grizzled Young Veterans in the finals. That win meant that they get to challenge The Undisputed Era for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Right now there are four matches that are official. Most Takeover shows have five matches. I think the fifth match will be Keith Lee defending the NXT North American Title against longtime rival/friend Dominik Dijakovic.

The card for NXT Portland Takeover on February 16 looks like this.

* NXT Championship: Adam Cole (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

* NXT Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Bianca Belair

* Finn Bálor vs. Johnny Gargano

* NXT Tag Team Championships: The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs. The BroserWeights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne)

NXT TakeOver: Portland streams live, Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network!

TJR Thoughts: I think it’s a very good card. There’s not a bad match on here. It could be one of the best Takeover’s ever and if they add Lee/Dijakovic then that’s only going to help. I’m looking forward to this Takeover a lot.
