Updated WWE Money in the Bank PPV Lineup – Smackdown Women’s Title “I Quit” Match, Return of Zelina Vega, Kevin Owens

There were a couple of additions to the WWE Money in the Bank lineup on last night’s Smackdown. Money in the Bank takes place on Sunday, July 18 at Dickies Arena (stop giggling, I didn’t name it) in Fort Worth, Texas. Fans are back!

For the third straight pay-per-view, Bianca Belair will defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Bayley. At WrestleMania Backlash, Belair beat Bayley in a regular match. At Hell in a Cell, Bianca Belair beat Bayley in a Hell in a Cell match. Should they really have a third match? I don’t know, but that’s what is happening. The way they set it up is that Belair issued the challenge, which is the smart way to set up a third match because if a WWE Official set it up then you could complain about it. However, when the babyface champion does it then it makes Belair look like a fighting champion. Anyway, it will likely be the end of that feud.

Zelina Vega made her return to WWE last night. She was announced as a Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match participant by WWE Official Sonya Deville even though her last match in a WWE ring was last November. Liv Morgan rightfully complained about it and then Morgan beat Vega in a two-minute match. I assume this will lead to Morgan being added to the Money in the Bank match because there are still two spots left, but that’s official yet.

Kevin Owens qualified for Money in the Bank when he defeated longtime rival Sami Zayn in a very physical Last Man Standing Match. They went about 25 minutes and had a tremendous match. I recommend it if you didn’t see it.

The win by Owens means that he is the sixth of eight men to qualify for Money in the Bank. The final two Money in the Bank qualifying matches will take place next week on Smackdown: Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins and King Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin. Both matches are rematches of long-term rivalries.

The updated Money in the Bank lineup looks like this.

WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge

WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Ricochet vs. John Morrison vs. Riddle vs. Big E vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kevin Owens vs. two more wrestlers. (Winners of Cesaro vs. Rollins and Nakamura vs. Corbin will be in the match.)

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross vs. Carmella vs. Zelina Vega vs. two more wrestlers.

Smackdown Women’s Championship “I Quit” Match: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley

Raw Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

Money in the Bank takes place on Sunday, July 18, streaming at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT exclusively on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.
