Updated WrestleMania Lineup Following Smackdown Live, Cruiserweight Title Tournament Finals

The WrestleMania 35 lineup continues to grow. Here’s what we know about the big event known as WrestleMania 35 on April 7th from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Following his heel turn at Fastlane on Sunday, Shane McMahon began Smackdown this week by talking about how much he enjoyed beating up The Miz in front of the Miz’s father George. He even called George “potato face” during the promo, which was kinda funny and also a bit mean. Shane also said he was making the match official for WrestleMania: “The Best in the World” Shane McMahon vs. The Miz.

It’s not a surprise that Miz vs. Shane was added to the WrestleMania since the story goes all the way back to Crown Jewel last November. After two months of Miz asking to team with Shane, they became a tag team, they won the Smackdown Tag Team Titles at Royal Rumble, lost it a few weeks later at Elimination Chamber and then following the loss at Fastlane, Shane turned on Miz. It’s the first heel run for Shane since the mid-2000s and his first time as a heel since he returned to WWE in 2016.

The Miz did not appear on Smackdown this week, but he did post this image on Instagram. It’s a photo of Shane grabbing George Mizanin by the face at WrestleMania.

Shane was not checking to see if George had cavities, but that’s what it looked like.

While Shane vs. Miz was the only official match added to WrestleMania, there was also a challenge issued. After Randy Orton and AJ Styles exchanged words in the ring, Styles challenged Orton to a match at WrestleMania. Orton left without answering the challenge. It should become official by next week’s Smackdown or WWE may announce it later this week. It’s obviously going to happen.

In the Cruiserweight Title Tournament finals, Tony Nese will face Cedric Alexander and the winner of that match will challenge Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania.
