Updated List of Royal Rumble Match Participants; Current PPV Lineup

TJR Wrestling

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view event will be taking place on Sunday, January 29 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Royal Rumble is arguably World Wrestling Entertainment’s second biggest show of the year and it will have a big feel to it as the Alamodome will likely be holding approximately 60,000 members of the WWE Universe.

With Royal Rumble under two weeks away, there are currently 18 participants that have been announced for the Royal Rumble Match. Also, four championship matches have been announced for the event so far.

The 18 participants that have been announced for the Royal Rumble Match are:

The Undertaker
Goldberg
Brock Lesnar
Dean Ambrose
The Miz
Seth Rollins
Dolph Ziggler
Big E
Xavier Woods
Kofi Kingston
Bray Wyatt
Randy Orton
Luke Harper
Braun Strowman
Chris Jericho
Baron Corbin
Cesaro
Sheamus

The Royal Rumble Match always has 30 participants. However, they won’t announce all 30 since there are often participants that WWE likes to keep a surprise, such as old-timers, returning superstars or new superstars.

The four championship matches that have been announced so far are:

WWE World Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena

WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns (Chris Jericho will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage)

Raw Women’s Championship: Charlotte (c) vs. Bayley

Cruiserweight Championship: Rich Swann (c) vs. Neville

There are never usually too many matches on the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, since the Royal Rumble Match itself takes up a significant portion of time. However, this year the pay-per-view will be four hours long, so there will likely be another match announced and probably a few more participants announced.

Cesaro and Sheamus have been announced as participants in the Royal Rumble Match, but I don’t know if this disqualifies them from having another match that night in which they defend their Raw Tag Team Championship. The rules for this seem to change throughout the years, but if they are allowed to pull double-duty that night, then having Cesaro and Sheamus defend their Raw Tag Team Championship against Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson seems likely.
