Updated Lineup for WWE Super Showdown on Feb. 27 Including “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs. Goldberg

TJR Wrestling

The next WWE Network pay-per-view event for the superstars of Raw and Smackdown is Super Showdown. It takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the International Arena at The Boulevard on Thursday, February 27th at 12 p.m. ET/8 p.m. AST.

Two more matches were made official on Smackdown on Friday. Bill Goldberg appeared via satellite to issue a challenge to the Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. Goldberg was not intimidated by the champion while noting that he did not receive a Universal Championship rematch when he lost the Universal Title to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in 2017. It’s a new matchup that feels fresh even though Goldberg hasn’t had a match since SummerSlam 2019 when he easily beat Dolph Ziggler. Last year’s Super Showdown event did not go well for Goldberg when he had an awful match with The Undertaker (also a loss for Goldberg), so he is looking for some retribution as well.

Another match that was set up on Smackdown happened when King Corbin challenged Roman Reigns to another match. Reigns accepted the challenge but stated that it would be a Steel Cage Match to prevent interference. It is assumed that this will be the end of the Reigns/Corbin rivalry. I sure hope so.

Carmella won a Fatal 4-Way match on Smackdown to earn an SD Women’s Title shot against Bayley. It was mentioned on Smackdown that it would be at Super Showdown, but by the end of the night, they weren’t saying that. Bayley vs. Carmella is not on the WWE.com Super Showdown page either, so I’m not sure if it will be at Super Showdown or another show. We know that last year at Crown Jewel, Natalya got to wrestle Lacey Evans in what was WWE’s first women’s match in Saudi Arabia. Perhaps WWE will try to do Bayley vs. Carmella in Riyadh, but they could always save it for another show. For now, I will not list it on the card.

That means the lineup for Super Showdown looks like this.

WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Ricochet

WWE Universal Championship: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Bill Goldberg

Steel Cage Match: Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin

Smackdown Tag Team Championships: The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. The Miz and John Morrison

There should be several more matches added throughout the month.

WWE Super ShowDown comes to International Arena at The Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 12 p.m. ET/8 p.m. AST, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network. (I grab that sentence from the WWE.com preview. They love bragging about whatever awards they have won!)
