UFC Star Paige VanZant says she wants to work for WWE “eventually”

Paige VanZant is a rising star in the UFC that won an impressive fight last night on Fox. She nailed her opponent Bec Rawlings with a flying headkick leading to a Knockout finish in the second round while also winning “Performance of the Night” honors. She’s also made a name for herself in mainstream media because she was on the last season of Dancing with the Stars as well.

What does it have to do with WWE? Nothing really, but she’s a name that all WWE fans should know because the 22-year-old VanZant is coveted by WWE and it appears as though she is interested in working for WWE at some point.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, VanZant commented on her potential future with WWE:

“We heard a little bit from them. They’re someone I’d love to partner with and work with, they’re a great organization. I’m a huge fan of WWE, and I definitely want to keep them close. Eventually, it’s still something I would love to do.”

She said all the right things, didn’t she? Great organization, huge fan and it’s something she would love to do.

As I mentioned, she’s only 22 years old, so it may be several years until she’s in a WWE ring. She’s a rising star in the UFC that could headline a major PPV within the next year or two. The fact that she’s very good looking certainly helps her status as a fighter as well. It also makes her appealing to WWE.

It wouldn’t shock me if VanZant appeared at a WWE event in a non-wrestling role in the near future as well. If it could benefit both companies, why not test her crossover appeal? She’s a rising star that can make a lot of money as long as she continues to work hard and performs at a high level.
