Two Championship Matches Announced for WWE Fastlane on March 10

TJR Wrestling

The first two matches were announced for WWE Fastlane on March 10 in Cleveland, Ohio. They are both Smackdown matches.

In the main event of Smackdown this week, Kofi Kingston pinned Daniel Bryan in a six-man tag match to earn a WWE Title match against Bryan. It was announced by Shane McMahon at the end of Smackdown. This happened two days after Kingston put on a great performance during the Elimination Chamber PPV where the fans were chanting “Kofi” for him during the main event of that show.

TJR Thoughts: It should be a great match and I’m happy for Kingston getting that title shot. Do I expect a title change? No, but if they did, that would be fine with me.

The other match announced for Fastlane will see The Usos defending the Smackdown Tag Team Titles against former champions Shane McMahon and The Miz after the teams had a promo exchange with Miz feeling bad about losing the titles for his team at Elimination Chamber. The other story is that Miz said his dad will be at ringside since it’s in Miz’s hometown of Cleveland. Cue up the “Mr. Miz” chants.

Just to summarize, the two matches announced so far are:

WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

Smackdown Tag Team Championships: The Usos (c) vs. Shane McMahon and The Miz

After WWE TV this week, there might be a few more matches added soon.

* It looks like Asuka vs. Mandy Rose is likely for the Smackdown Women’s Title as well since Mandy beat Asuka non-title on Raw.

* There will probably be Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax and Tamina for the Women’s Tag Team Titles

* It’s possible that they do The Revival defending the Raw Tag Team Titles against Gargano/Ciampa after the NXT guys got a win on Raw.

* Ronda Rousey could have a Raw Women’s Title match as well, but it’s not known who it might be against.

There are still two more weeks of Raw and Smackdown before Fastlane, so they have plenty of time to add more.
