Top Names Missing Tonight’s WWE Raw; John Cena & Vince McMahon Return

There will be several WWE Superstars and Divas absent from tonight’s Monday Night Raw from Brooklyn, New York at the Barclay’s Center. Due to the holiday season, WWE is running a live event in Allentown, Pennsylvania during the same time as tonight’s Raw. The wrestlers who are being advertised for this live event and will subsequently not appear on Raw are: Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, The Dudley Boyz, Tyler Breeze, Kane, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Tommy Dreamer, Paige and WWE Divas Champion Charlotte. These wrestlers still may appear on Raw in the form of a pre-taped video segment, but they will not appear live.

Although Raw will be missing some of the aforementioned big names, they have a big show planned for tonight’s final Raw of 2015. As mentioned on last week’s show, John Cena will be returning for his first match since October’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event. He will be facing United States Champion Alberto Del Rio in a non-title contest. WWE.com also announced that Vince McMahon will be appearing on tonight’s Raw after he was Superman punched by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns two weeks ago. The Chairman reportedly has “a lot on his mind” so tonight should be interesting.

Mark’s reaction: I’m looking forward to tonight’s Raw since it’s the last one of 2015. I’m assuming the WWE will want to end the year with a bang so hopefully there’s more to tonight’s show than just the return of John Cena and an appearance by Vince. I’d like to see Vince make an important cliffhanger-like decision tonight that’ll pump up the anticipation for the first Raw of 2016.

I’d also like to see a fair amount of advertising for next week’s Raw. One thing the WWE does that really bugs me is they never really advertise matches in advance too often. They did it this time around with Cena vs. Del Rio, but it’s something that should be done on a weekly basis. I hate the idea of matches being booked for Raw on the fly. There should always be a few matches to look forward to every week. Booking matches for Raw while the show is going on just makes The Authority look incompetent.
