Howdy folks! Yup, it’s that time where I crunch down this week’s news that the TJR news team have posted, and serve them up in bite size portions for your convenience (sorry, been watching way too much Masterchef this week!). And as always, I’ll recap a few of the smaller news stories that weren’t picked up by the team.
Biggest News Of The Week
Things have gone from bad to worse for Mr Rose.
Last Wednesday (May 11th), Mark McAllen reported that the WWE had suspended Adam Rose indefinitely due to his arrest in relation to a domestic abuse call. With Rose (real name Ray Leppan) already serving a 60 day suspension for his second Wellness violation, things are looking decidedly bleak.
I honestly can’t see a way back into the WWE fold after this latest happening. And with rumors swirling that there will be more talent releases coming in the next week or so, Vince and co may just cut their losses and let Rose go. As Mark put in his story, it would be a sad way for Leppan to lose his job as I too watched the same E:60 documentary and felt for him and his family.
05/10 – News broke that the Executive VP of Talent, Live Events and Creative (also known as Triple H) had signed a new three year talent contract. Good news is that we can all look forward to more outlandish and extravagant WrestleMania entrances for the next few years!
05/11 – In a kind of left field news story, Jonathan Coachman revealed on The Ross Report podcast that ESPN are currently in the process of making a “30 for 30” special on the XFL, Vince McMahon’s failed alternative to the NFL. Mark wrote about it here and included some footage from an XFL game. Great find Mark!
05/12 – Editor In Chief John Canton wrote about the reason why Bayley is still in NXT and not on the main roster. Even though the reason makes sense, I think Raw and SmackDown are less of a program without her on it. Roll on SummerSlam!
05/13 – Damien Sandow had his first interview since being released by WWE, with the reputable Rolling Stone. John wrote about it in depth right here. As much as I’ll miss him, I think being released could be great for him. Whether his future lies in wrestling or something different like acting, his future does look bright indeed.
05/14 – With the company touring Japan in a few months, WWE released the card’s for the July 1st and 2nd events. Mark wrote about it here. Man! There’s some dream matches on those cards! Like Mark, I am desperately hoping that one or both events will be shown on the WWE Network.
Under The Radar
*Not exactly under the radar, but not covered by TJR itself, is the quite surprising news that Paige and Alberto Del Rio are dating…..Yup dating! Don’t believe me? Check this out:
I still don’t know if us fans are being worked or not. If we’re not then good luck to them (he says through gritted teeth as Paige is our English rose)….
*If you were looking forward to see AJ Styles at this weekends live events, then the man himself has some bad news for you:
For those of you who were expecting to see AJ Styles this weekend, I apologize. Banged my ankle up pretty good, but I'll be ready for RAW.

* Christian was released from his WWE talent contract earlier last week. As an in-ring talent, Christian hadn’t been seen in a WWE ring since mid 2014, but he has been on WWE programming with various Raw appearances and The Edge And Christian Show That Totally Reeks Of Awesomeness (TEACSTTROA). His release from his talent contract won’t have any impact on his ventures on the WWE Network.
*Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is scheduled to be back on TV in time to promote SummerSlam, reports F4WOnline.com. Begin the rumors about his future opponent, I’m going out on a limb and say Cesaro (unless Cesaro wins the IC title at Extreme Rules).
* WWN Live announced on Thursday, that EVOLVE will be hosting a WWE Cruiserweight Classic Flashpoint, a prelude to the tournament so to speak, on June 11th in Orlando, Florida. The event is designed to get the fans prepared for the CWC, which tapes the week of June 20th and starts airing July 13th on the WWE Network. Names already confirmed for the Flashpoint event include Johnny Gargano, TJ Perkins, Drew Gulak and Lince Dorado.
Another newsworthy week is in the books folks! Again, I hope you have read the more full and in depth articles from John, Mark and our new guy Mike as they do the hard work. I just recap their excellent work!
So until this time next week, so long folks!
