Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor Announced For WWE NXT Takeover June 8

It was announced on this week’s NXT broadcast that Samoa Joe will defend the NXT Title against Finn Balor at the June 8 NXT Takeover special at Full Sail University in Orlando.

This will be the third straight straight NXT Takeover event where the main event match will be Joe vs. Balor. The first match was in December 2015 in England with Balor getting the win. Then on April 1 in Dallas it was another win for Balor. They followed that up a few weeks later with Joe getting the win at a live event in Lowell, Massachussets.

TJR Thoughts: There have been rumors that this match will be a cage match, but that’s not official yet. It would make sense to put a stipulation on the match because the other matches have been regular matches. If it’s the end of the rivalry, it would be best to do something to make the match stand out more.

Who’s going to win? Probably Joe. While both guys should definnitely be on the main roster, the timing is right for Balor with his former Bullet Club buddies Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on the main roster. If not now, when? The timing just feels right.
