Rob Van Dam Gives Update On WWE Future

In an interview with GrueMonkey Rob Van Dam was asked about a WWE farewell tour.

That’s mostly just talk. I did a Q&A at Legend Fan Fest and expressed that I have an open door policy with WWE. You won’t see me with TNA, Global or any other organization. It will breach our deal. I have a merchandise deal with the WWE and right now, I’m too on the go. I have no reason to do a run right now. Honestly, it’s better not to. I explained during the Q&A that I don’t see that changing in the future. Physically, I feel great. I’ve always said, I’m unique in that way. People say wrestling wears you down, but no one thinks I just don’t want to. I can do the same as I did 20 years ago. Who knows, maybe someone threw it out there for reaction and the internet has had its fun with it.

Good for RVD. Even though he is a little bit slower moving around the ring, he is in great physical shape and could still go for another run in WWE. It’s also nice to know that even though he isn’t active he is making money off of merchandise deals. With that in mind, it makes perfect sense why he would not want to jump ship to another company, especially a sinking battleship like TNA.

On another note, if a group of Internet fans took the time to start rumors regarding this apparent farewell tour, it also makes a case that there is an interest in seeing RVD compete inside a WWE ring once again. It also helps that at this point in his career, he’s a humble guy and willing to take losses to put over younger talent.
